...... or swinging from the chandeliers, but I am a little bit excited. You see The Wonderful Man has been off to Europe on another adventure involving a bicycle, a tent and a rather long absence, but he's due home in a few days (lands on Thursday, home on Friday to be exact) and I confess to being a tad thrilled at the prospect.

Who else has got something exciting going on or something to look forward to?

Thanks Ginny!

Lucky enough to have lots to look forward to. This weekend , camping with all the family. A week in Cap Verde in November. A week caravanning in October, not sure where yet. Best of all we have booked to go to Peru and the Galápagos Islands next March.

pollyperkins Congratulations on your new grandchild. flowers
Coolgran65 - take heart - one of my lodgers was co-parented following a divorce and says it worked very well for her as she always felt she had the best of all worlds. flowers

We don't have any holiday or big event to look forward to at present.
Our youngest ds and partner are splitting up. There is also a toddler involved. The one thing we are sure if is that she is dearly loved by both parents and both sets of grandparents together with aunties and uncles.

So I guess we are looking forward to the next 6 months or so when hopefully the coparenting will be agreed upon and a routine is settled.

And then ...... We will take ourselves on holiday to somewhere beautiful and above all peaceful smile

Baby arrived safely! Relief all round. 3 yr old alternates from fascination/obsession with baby (It's looking at me Grandma!) to indifference/antagonism (stop the baby crying Mummy and play with me!' All par for the course!

Legs55 - just seen your post and it certainly sounds like we do follow the same team. If so you'll be saddened by the news this week. We had a great time in Aberdeen but sadly I couldn't justify the cost of the other two trips. I will be there on Thursday, hoping we can pull off a comeback and will give them a cheer from you!

I'm off for my first festival ever next Thursday, with DD1, her partner, DGS (aged 2) and DD1's friend who's driving us all down there in her camper van. The festival is in Chepstow. I'm nervous but excited too. DH isn't coming and thinks a) that I'll hate it and b) that I'm mad.

I feel like a dog about to be let off the leash, even though I'm slightly daunted by the thought of compost toilets and outdoor solar showers....!

I'm also excited at the prospect of rain, dragonfly46

In two weeks I am taking my horse on holiday.Four days of glorious riding through the Kielder forest, wonderful food, great company, hot tub in the garden. I'm lucky enough to have a few holidays each year but this is the one that excites me most even if my old muscles remind me I'm not a kid anymore.

Emelle sounds like you support the same Football Team as me, first started watching them in 1959/60 Season, only 5 years old. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for a good result, sadly I live too far away to get to games now.

I'm looking forward to visiting Greenway, Agatha Christie's summer home in a couple of weeks. Trip to Lyme Regis in September (weekend) with friends.

Visit to see my Mum in Yorkshire in November, not looking forward to the drive though..

Next February Mum is 90 so we will be celebratingsmile

Bit of a boat thing going on here. We are taking our friends boat to London in a couple of weeks or when OH has finished the work that needs doing.
We are doing the calidonian canal in September and OH is taking about hiring a boat in the Midi Carmague in Sep/oct.

We collect our new caravan on the 3rd of August! We haven't towed a caravan on 20 years! This one is very small and super light so handling it should be easy. So excited! We are towing it straight from the dealers to a camp site to try it out.

Camelotclub Wed 25-Jul-18 15:48:21

Are you pining for the fjords?

In just over 2 weeks time I'll be off to Birmingham for the weekend with DH. On the Saturday I'm so excited to be going to the Festival of Quilts at the NEC. Have been saving my pennies to have a splurge with the traders there and will be taking many, over 100 photos of all the amazing quilts on display. DH will meanwhile occupy himself doing the crossword / watching football on TV in various hostelries. In the evenings, when my feet have recovered, we'll be off round the bars and restaurants of a very buzzy Birmingham. Really looking forward to it. smile wine

I would love to travel France on a bike with a tent. But we are going to do a shorter trip in this country with just an overnight at a Travel Lodge.

I'm excited.....I've just booked a trip to Madeira to tour the gardens there! Always wanted to go to Madeira and am a gardening enthusiast too so it sounds like the perfect vacation for me.DH not interested in coming, so am joining a group of 15 other travellers - so that should be a different experience too! By the end of this one week vacation I hope I can say I have seen some wonderful sights and also met 15 new friends!
