I'm not a prude but I was in a Patisserie Valerie cafe for afternoon tea. I was sat with my sister & the queue was forming for the till right next to us, So far, no issues.
That was until a couple in maybe their 30's/40's joined.
Right next to us the man lowered his hand and placed it under the woman's skirt! Didn't keep it there long, the woman didn't comment on it so couldn't have minded or didn't want to cause a scene.
I was too surprised and embarrassed to say anything plus I'm not sure I'd have known what to say.
I just found it totally unacceptable.

Think the saying Get a room applies. Oviosly could not wait. Gross though.

HildaW Mon 28-Jan-19 15:36:23

No wonder they've gone bust!

Quite relieved to know some other DH's are as bad as mine. If DH is ill I'm up and down the stairs like a yoyo - does he want this, does he want that etc. On the rare occasions I'm feeling bad enough to stay in bed then I might get a cuppa after he's got up, had his b'fast, checked the internet and finally remembered me but after that I'm forgotten probably until mid afternoon when he generally has a snack and I might get another cuppa.

Toto309 sounds ghastly!

To lighten your mood maybe, saw cartoon in the Sunday Times yesterday relating to Patisserie Valerie, two chefs standing over their mixing bowls lamenting the fact that they've run out of hundreds and thousands grin

I'm pretty sure they knew each other, they went and sat at the same table. I think I should have added that to my original post.

Was it a chilly day? Maybe he was just warming his hands!!!

Willow10, your comment was funny, so was yours BlueBelle, if you cannot post funny comments, how boring live would be.

jaylucy: know you were being lighthearted but the bloke could help himself. He had control of his hand. If a child was there and witnessed this kind of behaviour it could have a worrying effect on them and of course some will grow to think this is normal. The pair should have been marched out the shop. Hope they are on cctv.

I try to avoid smartly dressed young men with briefcases after one coming towards me suddenly stretched out his arm and aimed his briefcase right in the crotch. He went too fast for me to even see who it was. That was in a shopping mall and although years ago you never forget something like that.

If this happened recently I would imagine the woman had faily warm leg covering...thick tights are popular with short skirt wearing women. I suspect there was no skin to skin contact. Maybe he just squeezed her bum!!grin

DeeDum Mon 28-Jan-19 12:29:01

I would have looked right at him. And said a very loud voice

" Ewwwk " dirty git"

The lady might have been an escort.
Near to where we are they lives a husband and wife, they have three children who are day pupils at an expensive private school. They live in a five bedroom detached house
Both drive top of the range cars the husband does not seem to work his wife goes out alone Thursday / Friday / Saturday Evenings. In the summer they invited us to a barbecue. Being nosey I asked the wife if they worked for anyone, “Oh I’m an escort” she said. She went on to tell me that she started eight years ago when her husband was made redundant from his work. I told her I had never met an escort before, she replied “ oh I expect you have they just never told you, there is a lot of us about.” She told me that she goes to the same man each Thursday and Saturday and the same women on the Sunday. Her logic was “ I cant waste my life hoping to win the lottery or waiting for someone to die and leave me some money, so I had to find another way.”

Puts me in mind of a guy I was dating aeons ago, an incredibly 'dishy' bus conductor, always smart uniform and great haircut (I like the clean look)
As I walked down the aisle to get off , he grabbed me in a swooping hold and gave me a lingering kiss, to the apparent delight of the passengers who whistled and clapped. hmmblush
I remember his name was Tommy...not Tom.

Original Valerie Patisserie in London was excellent but don’t like the chains. Fruit tarts are good but the cakes seem to be 80% cream.

Eloethan Mon 28-Jan-19 12:01:41

I don't think you have to be a prude to be of the opinion that this sort of exhibitionism is annoying.

I had taken my granddaughter out for the day to central London. We were on a crowded underground carriage. A nearby middle aged, quite ordinary looking couple were behaving very amorously in the middle of all this crush.

"Ugh", my granddaughter says, pulling a face, "That's disgusting Nan, they're using their tongues".

"Yes", I said pointedly, "It is inappropriate on such a crowded train". They stopped.

PECS Mon 28-Jan-19 11:58:41

We don't know that was the situation! She may have been totally complicit. Not all women ..see on GN... are passive or abused. Maybe it was a game they play for tittilation..she may have demanded that he touches her in public.

Horrible. I'm glad that no-one 'possesses' me.

PECS Mon 28-Jan-19 11:51:53

So a couple were standing in a queue and one fondled the other? They knew each other.. maybe it is part of their sexual routine.. a bit self- centred but maybe they were in lust?
Were they buying extravagant cream cakes to take away? hmm
When I see couples eating, nibbling or groping one another in public I try to think back to when I was in lust in case I had ever been so oblivious to the people around me! blush

Wow! Unbelievable.
I'd have whizzed round in front of him to finish my shopping before he handled any of the goods.
Dirty b.

I was once in the gardens on St Michaels Mount. It was a beautiful day. Then I saw 2 fairly mature people lying on the grass, having a kiss and cuddle and generally fondling each other . If they had been teenagers I wouldn't have noticed. But they were old enough to have been Gransnetters. I was quite shocked.

Rosina Mon 28-Jan-19 11:38:22

There seemed to be a trend among young couples some years ago that I found a bit odd; we went to quite a few 18th, 21st, and engagement parties and I noticed that when couples stood perhaps at the bar or by the dance floor, the man would slide his hand sideways between the woman's cheeks . Just as you might park a bike, the men seemed to park their hand in what looked like a rather intimate gesture of possession. Does this still happen? I haven't been to a party or dance in ages!
