Severe punishment for unknown underage sex.

Agree with the last two posters. There is no way that a naked 12 year old could look like a 19 year old.

That poor girl, why wasn't she being looked after better than this. Is that the best sort of life she should have been leading?

A 27 year old man certainly should have known better.

It all sounds very odd. I know some 12yr old children mature physically but there is still a difference in an adolescent body and a 19 yr olds. Just because she was playing at being a grown up does not mean there were not tell tale hints that she was really just a child.
He was 27.. men of that age should be able to make better judements. There is no suggestion that he had any cognitive delay or difficulty.

I have yet to meet a 12 year old that could seriously pass themselves off as 19, other that in the dusk with the light behind them.

Certainly it would be clear she wasn't 19 in close up and undressed.

The man concerned must have had his suspicions at some point but decided to chance it.

Am I the only one outraged that the CPS prosecuted a 27 year old guy who met a alleged 19 year old girl on WhatsApp, her profile clearly said she was an experienced 19 year old.
They went back to his flat, in Manchester, they drank Alcohol together, they had a consensual sex act, he took a picture of her in a body.

She was in fact 12 years of age.

Her social worker gave evidence in court that her M.O. was to generally give the impression that she was 19 years of age when meeting guys.

The youngster to give her her due, refused to cooperate with the police, refused to confirm any details whatsoever.

The Judge said whilst sentencing "Whilst she was 12 at the time of these events, you did not believe that to be the case".

The Guy involved, has lost his job, his home, been jailed for two-and-a-half years, had draconian restrictions applied to him, and he was ordered to sign the Sex Offenders Register for life.

How can that be Justice ??? shock shock shock
