I met a wonderful man on Tinder, but think I have been lucky, hear many horror stories!
I was very strict with my criteria on who I liked, and did swipe left on what felt like hundreds of people!
But got lucky and have met my soulmate.

I met my now husband on an over 50's site which, unfortunately, is now no more. We lived about 50 miles apart and had a long distance relationship for 2 years, only seeing each other at weekends.
I moved to live with him in 2010. We have been together for over 11 years and married for 6 months. In our case it worked but I know that not everyone is as lucky as we have been.

My work manager met a chap on Plenty of Fish. They married last year. But for one success story there are plenty of disasters.

My friend (of a similar age to me) had met her now husband via internet dating and so I tried the "elite singles" site. However when I checked my bank account I found that a years subscription had been taken rather than the 1 month that I had signed up for. Not a good start! To be fair they reimbuesred me straightaway. A stream of emails came through to me but I soon realised that I am nervous of meeting total strangers and feel rather inadequate because of it. You guys out there are absolutely right about meeting others in a more natural way but it's not all that easy for single women to get themselves out there. Ho hum!

I have used Match and was just at the point of giving up after many disastrous dates when I finally met someone very nice and have been dating him for over 7 months, so far, so good. So, as long as you are prepared to be extremely patient and not give up, it can be successful. I happened to be his first date so I think he got "lucky", that's what I keep telling him anyway.

I dislike the dating social media because the men/women who gets on these dating sites are liars, desperate for a sex mate, and be dangerous to your health/life.

I met my guy friend at a funeral, weird but we talked and find our self dating .
Meeting people the old fashion way such as the library/movies/school/work/ and/or at a convenience store.

I haven't used any, wouldn't want to but - friends use Guardian Soul Mates with a degree of success.

I don’t think dating sites that claim to “ Match” couples work with the older age group. There are far more women than men wanting a new partner but the chances of finding your soulmate is pretty slim.
My own experience as a man is, don’t bother with dating sites, join a local club and socialize, if you are single and looking you will get plenty of attention.

All the ones I've tried are just awful. Match.com matched me with men/boys at least 30 years younger than me. They were looking for cougar relationship.

I sometimes post my art on Instagram and the number of young men with private accounts trying to connect just invades my privacy. It's like a shoal of piranha circling around vulnerable older single women. I'm a widow of 3 years and he last thing I need are men on the make. What an eye opener!

It was an interesting social experiment, but I'd rather meet someone 'organically.; through friends, activities or just out doing things.
