Postnatal depression

Hi I'm a new grandparent my daughter and granddaughter lives with me but I'm feeling down, stressed and negative thoughts, I know from experience that I'm suffering from depression but can a grandparent suffer from postnatal depression???? I'm very close to my daughter I saw my grandchild being born,

Welcome to GN , if you’re new .

I’m sorry you’re feeling low but I don’t think it can be classed as post natal depression . I would presume you’d have to have given birth for that ( although I could be wrong of course 😁)

It sounds more like the change in circumstances or even the part responsibility of a newborn has made you anxious .

Maybe think about each specific worry and work on resolving it . Taking it piece by piece might be easier than being overwhelmed by the larger issue .

Step back and take the time to enjoy your new grandchild .
