Glass coffee jars

As others have said, I soak them, remove as much label as possible, then use Sticky Stuff Remover. It sometimes has to be left on a bit to really work.

Certain labels peel off in a lovely smooth all over way. Why others don’t is a mystery to me.

I have a long term relationship with coffee jars too! LOL

As mentioned, WD40 will work but it stinks, so I prefer to use Turpentine on some paper towel and finally a few drops of dishwashing liquid to remove any residue.

White spirit or WD40

OP’s relationship with her coffee jars?

Just popping my head round the door to ask why a thread about glass jars is in "relationships"? grin

Yup, Sticky Stuff Remover. It's brilliant

A spray of WD40 and scrub it off should work

That's brilliant stuff. It gets chewing gum off material.

There is something online called "sticky stuff remover" and that may solve your problem.

Try nail varnish remover?

I was lucky enough to be given a quantity of large coffee jars which i aim to use as storage. They are washed and clean but i cannot get rid of the gummy residue left by label removal Washing up liquid and hot water does not touch it! (Have rubbed hard).
