What do I say when my husband of many years has fallen out with his son & his family & tells me to keep away from my families - not in so many words! when I love them and they love me too.
I feel like saying dont you ever make me chose between them and you.

Im not very diplomatic any suggestions.

That is exactly what I would say. He has no right to stop you contacting your family.

Hopefully it was said in the heat of the moment and not meant but if not then I’m sorry but those exact words may need to be said when he’s in a calm place.

Perhaps he's not well ?

A bit more detail might help for clarification. When your DH is in a quiet approachable mood. You could say that you have no intention of cutting yourself off from family. Don’t get into an argument just leave it at that.

"I understand that you are angry with your family. However I wish to continue seeing my family and will do so!" And repeat!

Did he mean you cannot see your family or his son's family?

Good advice Madgran.

He’s obviously angry at the fallout, and is now being irrational. Cut him some slack for now, if it’s only just happened. He will know he’s being unreasonable. Only you can know how best to deal with it though, depending on how bad you think the situation is. For it an argument over something silly, or more deep rooted? Of course you shouldn’t stop seeing your family. Just talk and sort. All the best.

I agree DiscoDancer let the heat die down then have a rational discussion.
