I've approached by DDs or Dils about dating/marrying their fathers or fathers in law. They have this strange belief that I want to sell my house and repair his or allow him to buy "Toys For Big Boys" while I just provide money, housework, possible medical care and sex!

Oh! and I'm expected to cook what he likes and what he likes only!

There are a lot more women than men looking for a new relationship. Treat it as a fun thing, be yourself, a nice photo, smile, in a social setting, say what activities you like, travel, theatre cooking or whatever.

You will be contacted by idiots just block them, when you have a fairly local contact you like phone them and chat, if you like what you hear arrange to meet, public place of course. 1 hour is long enough, time for a coffee not a dinner, if they are serious they will meet within a few days, longer than a week is a bad sign move on.
