Hi! I'm 68, retired, recently single and live in Gloucestershire. I’m looking to meet another local, single, straight lady of a similar age who enjoys walking, countryside and exploring beautiful places. I love Scotland, scenic UK breaks and travelling abroad to see stunning scenery, mountains and lakes – definitely countryside rather than cities!
It would be lovely to find someone to share walks, days out, short trips and perhaps bigger adventures abroad. I prefer one-to-one companionship to large groups.
Just looking for friendship, laughs and a like-minded companion to enjoy life and make new memories with. 😊
If this sounds like you, please drop me a message! 🌍🥾

May I suggest volunteering if you’re bored you ll be doing something useful and helpful and could make friends at the same time

Join something you will enjoy, perhaps a local group if you are up for it.,Volunteer few hours a week. I did and before too long life changed. You have to stick with it and there's bumps along the way, more difficult now as I cannot walk as I used to so had to adapt. Trouble about getting older is the loss of lifelong friends, they really are irreplaceable, but there's lots of new friendly people out there yet to meet.

Hey 👋, I'm 53 and I Live in the UK too. Also looking for a Friend to Connect with and Build a real and Long lasting relationship. I'm Really Bored and starting to feel lonely and tired of Retirement.

I am so sorry you feel that way. Its the best time of my life, I joined a local David Lloyd gym and love the classes and spa, the zumba in particular. Its so joyous. I also have a couple of other absorbing hobbies and have met people that way who have become friends and we go to lunches, theatre trips etc. one thing really does lead to another!

Hi Jet5, can you send me a PM?

Jet5, it sounds like you know exactly what you enjoy, which is a real head start. A local walking group is probably the most natural place to meet someone who loves the countryside as much as you do, and after a few outings it is easy to suggest a one-to-one walk or a day out with whoever you click with. Conservation volunteering days, a community centre class or a U3A group, if there is one near you, can work the same way. It can take a little while, so try saying yes to one small plan each week and see who keeps turning up.

Good plan here from JevK.
I would definitely try this.
It's so much easier to make friends alongside people.
Good luck.

Join your local U3A . There will be many groups to chose from and if there isn’t a walking group, you could start one. My local U3A organises short trips in the UK and holidays abroad.

Our U3A has a Walking group, (5-6 miles, I think they take a picnic) and an Ambling group (an hour, then a pub lunch which is optional).
Plus other opportunities for days out, e.g. Gardens Appreciation group.
There's no pressure to join in en masse or do more than you're comfortable with.
