Do u think I'm stuck and have a routine?
So I'm a 31 year old turning 32 in December and I never had a bf still living with parents and I've been working at McDonalds for 11 years I don't have any friends I just work and come home. but i sometimes go shopping by myself after work or with a coworker. on Sundays when i get out of work i go out with my parents. But Monday and Tuesday I go out with my mom & go shopping.

Had to google PITA- yes 🥱

Graphite Thu 29-Oct-26 12:56:10

Says they are stuck and then repeats the same question over and over, proving that they are. Wind up.

Why is this forum suddenly a magnet for thirtysomething PITAs?

Is GN advertising in Millennials Monthly?

Forget what I just posted. This is just another AI otter, I'd bet my bottom 10p on it. Don't waste any more time on it, people.

Cossy

If you’re happy with your life and your routine, then that’s great.

If not, then change it.

Yes, this.
You refer to your mother as "mom" - does this mean you're American? Most members of this site are from the UK, so we don't have a lot of experience of how Americans do things (except from tv shows, which aren't exactly true to life!).
Is there another member of your family you could speak to about this? Or maybe the co-worker you go shopping with? I'm afraid we're the authors of our own destiny, to a large extent, so you have to chip away at your own fences. Good luck.

Crikey-what minimum number of opinions from strangers who don't know will satisfy you?! How many will be enough?

You have in fact already been given a lot of opinions- e.g. join things, change your routines, sign up with the military etc. You could - find a job in a different location which comes with live in accommodation, join an evening class, a walking group- do more things with your coworker - like going to the movies etc etc etc.

Latest opinion- prioritise your time instead do things and/or make some changes to your life instead of wasting time of on gransnet seeking multiplee opinions from strangers you will never meet and are much older than you.

What you're currently doing is called procrastination and you're also deflecting your personal agency onto gransnet posters to come up with opinions and suggestions for you instead of fonduing your own. Thats very passive.

We are all at the business end of life. We have all learned over the years that life is short. Enjoy your life- make it work for you and don't waste it procrastinating much longer.

Money, and excitement and boyfriends galore 😁

Oreo Thu 29-Oct-26 10:07:48

Have you thought of signing up with the military?

Delila Thu 29-Oct-26 10:02:31

JevK, NotSpaghetti, Plevey and others have given advice for a couple of simple additions to your lifestyle that you might consider trying, but really you’d be better off asking opinions and advice from people nearer your own age-group. Try Mumsnet, or perhaps there’s an American equivalent?

Plevey08 Thu 29-Oct-26 09:42:41

Hi Ilovecandy, you sound like you might like to add another interest in your life.
You could visit your local library and see if there is a group you could join in your area. Do you have anything in mind that you might like to have a go at? It could be anything art class, walking group. Just to get to meet some other people who are friendly and welcoming. It would be good to have something to look forward to each week. We can all get a bit stuck in what we do but there are things that you could join. Some cost nothing or very little, if the cost is a problem.

SpinDriftCoastal Thu 29-Oct-26 08:46:54

Are you happy? What can you foresee for the future?

Esmay Thu 29-Oct-26 07:48:39

Try VSO or Peace Corps .

Cossy Thu 29-Oct-26 07:44:46

Fallingstar

I read a book recently that is almost exactly the same as this scenario called The Convenience Store Worker, by a Japanese author.
Very strange, is as if this storyline has been borrowed but tweaked.
Could be a real human or a bot but really and honestly I have too much to think about right now so cheerio.

Ditto.

We’ve all said, very loudly, very clearly, very simply, your life is your life, if it all works for you, fabulous, if it does not, fix it!

Nothing more to add. I’m out. 👍

NotSpaghetti Thu 29-Oct-26 07:12:31

This was what I thought too JevK

I think one or two "baby steps" just for you may help you feel more alive and then you might not keep asking others what they think.

JevK Thu 29-Oct-26 05:57:55

A routine isn't a bad thing, and 11 years in one job shows you're reliable. But if part of you is asking the question, it might be worth adding one small thing that's just yours. The co-worker you go shopping with is a good start: you could suggest a coffee or a film one evening, outside work. Or pick one weekly activity where the same faces come back every time, like an evening class, a walking group or a few hours of volunteering. You don't need to change your whole life, just one evening a week that's yours.

BlueBelle Thu 29-Oct-26 04:30:53

Try a USA site we can’t judge your life for you We are a different age group in a different part of the world

I just wanna know your opinion on this
You ve asked this same question 7 times I personally don’t really have an opinion and seems no one else does either

Ok if you insist
If you’re happy carry on if you’re not happy change it

Onetoein Thu 29-Oct-26 01:55:15

I would say, join a club. Be it, crafting, chess, bridge......whatever....possibly for someone a little older a lawn bowls club - that instant friendship. Even a college course. I was told - no one is going to knock on your door to ask to be your best friend, you need to get out there and speak to people. My mum also had a philosophy....even before she knew what you asking, the answers yes! She never missed out on, a cup of tea, a peice of cake, a trip out or a holiday. She didn't pass away of old age, she wore herself out!

FigsandGrapes Thu 29-Oct-26 01:44:31

Are you on the right platform? You are only 31.

This is Gransnet.

Ilovecandy12 Thu 29-Oct-26 00:45:35

I just wanna know your opinion on this

Bellanonna Thu 29-Oct-26 00:37:31

Do they have half-term holidays in the US?

NotSpaghetti Thu 29-Oct-26 00:31:17

Why?

Ilovecandy12 Wed 28-Oct-26 23:23:05

But I wanna hear your opinion on this

NotSpaghetti Wed 28-Oct-26 23:20:20

Maybe start something new and see if you like it?

Ilovecandy12 Wed 28-Oct-26 23:19:15

Yes

Grammaretto Wed 28-Oct-26 23:17:24

Are you American?

MollyNew Wed 28-Oct-26 22:55:06

Ok, in my opinion you're questioning your lifestyle choices so you need to make changes. You should ask for advice on a forum more suited to your peer group.
