I don't care about the mess anymore If you want to visit unexpectedly you take me as you fine me.

Not bothered if someone drops in, even if the dust is visible. They can and do take me as they find me.

I am no longer bothered when my house isn't neat and tidy. I used to take such pride in it (and my garden) but I'm happier just using it these days & if it gets a little shabby and messy, that's OK.

I am no longer bothered about the wrinkles round my eyes - they are laughter lines and show the happiness I have had in my life!

farting out loud....

Dodo123 Wed 28-Jan-15 22:35:28

I don't worry about what people think anymore.

I no longer worry about having lots of friends. When you are younger you feel that you need lots of friends and end up getting hurt by them, age makes you realise that you have many acquaintances but very few are actuality true friends. Life is much simpler with just one or two friends than trying to be popular with lots of people. A true friend is a true friend, which even if you go a long time without contact, when you do meet up again it is as if you only just spoke.

Now I do not go out to work & have to conform to company rules I have let my hair grow to below my shoulders. Convention always implied ladies of a certain age could not wear their hair long, but if it is in good condition - why not? So versatile.

Making an idiot of myself !!

glamnan Wed 28-Jan-15 21:47:22

I now don't worry about wearing the latest fashion in clothing instead I wear what suits me and I feel comfortable in.

andreadimmick Wed 28-Jan-15 21:33:23

speaking out, if people dont like it, tough.

I agree with others about loving my grey hair. The thing I used to obsess about was matching shoes, bags, gloves etc and the coat had to tone or match - no more! x

needing to look groomed just to go the shops

Funkyferret Wed 28-Jan-15 21:02:53

I love that I no longer care about following fashion and worrying about not being "on-trend", or whatever they call it. I don't go around in a sack but I choose what I like and what suits me and if there's a fashion trend I like, I may buy it but if it's just silly or not for me I can happily ignore it.

Micah68 Wed 28-Jan-15 19:14:41

I am more content to 'wait in' for deliveries or tradesmen. I used to feel as if I had missed out on a day if I spent the whole day in the house. Now I am happy to fill the time pottering around catching up on jobs or simply reading or emailing friends.

suzied Wed 28-Jan-15 19:02:03

I do still care about my appearance, getting hair and nails done etc., but am not worried about competing with others or buying ultra smart suits and coats. I am happy to take a step back and enjoy the here and now.

peterhall Wed 28-Jan-15 19:00:31

I just couldn't give a monkeys anymore about 'hair-loss'
