Fairy Non Bio would like to hear about the laundry schedule you have in your household. Are you very particular about washing your clothes and have a load for every colour imaginable, or do you just go for lights and darks? Maybe you have assigned days for certain washes - is Sunday sheets day and Tuesday for towels? Has your laundry schedule changed a lot as you’ve got older?

Here’s what Fairy Non Bio have to say: “Fairy Non Bio is good for anyone who wants a softer, more sensitive wash (that still leaves clothes clean!). Its gentle formula promises to be kind to both your clothes and your skin, and so it’s suitable for everyone”

So, whatever your household washing schedule, post it below for a chance to win a £300 voucher.

Thanks and good luck with the prize draw!

with just washing for myself to do, and a new washing machine that takes a huge load I can get all my weeks clothes into one load. I used to seperate lights and darks, but no longer - everything in on 30degrees.
bedding and towels take another load.
I remember the days, I had 3 children and washed at least once a day.

I'm forever putting washing on! Sheets and towels once a week, muddy clothes from walking the dogs, I hate seeing a full washing basket!!

We have a wash basket that everyone throws their dirty washing into at the end of each day. When there is enough for a load, I tend to separate them out into darks and lights and wash accordingly. Kitchen dish cloth an tea towel get washed every time I am doing any sort of wash. All the towels in the house get washed on a Saturday morning. All the bedding gets washed on a Sunday morning. Curtains and mats get washed once a month. Not at all OCD! I would definitely say it's more of a routine now that I'm older. When I was younger it was whenever I had time or could remember! Now it's just part of every day life smile

I do whites and bedding on a Monday, towels on Tuesday, at least one coloured wash on another weekday, a coloured wash on a Saturday and a mixed wash on a Sunday. I usually have a couple of wool cycle items to do on their own as well.

I have three different laundry baskets. One for whites which as washed at 90 degrees. One basket for towels sheets, socks and underpants - these are separated into dark and light washes at 60 degrees. The final basket is for everything else and they too are separated into darks and lights but wased at 40 degrees instead.

I have no set laundry days just whenever the laundry needs done and my partner isn't hogging the machine. I have eczema so I always use Fairy non bio. It doesn't matter so much for my OH as he can use anything but I itch like mad if I use a bio. I generally do my washing and the bedding either Saturday or Sunday and towels and dish towels whenever they need done. I separate lights and darks and delicates. I also wash at 30 degrees for most things apart from towels, dish towels and bedding.

no routine, as and when required, lights and darks on 30 or 40 and separate wash for towels and bedding. We normally do 4 washes per week and always use fairy powder.

freefan Fri 27-Jan-17 18:42:22

I do the general washing as it needs done, with a boil wash on a Friday evening for towels, cloths, tea towels etc. and Saturday morning is ironing day smile

Ikea1234 Fri 27-Jan-17 18:40:52

Monday is strip the beds and wash the towels day. The rest of the week is as and when, such as shirts, trousers, jeans etc. And my new tumble dryer is a godsend!

cherylann2461 Fri 27-Jan-17 18:26:15

i wash most days of the week but some items just need refreshing and i have a cycle on my machine to do that.

Humph Fri 27-Jan-17 18:17:22

separate bins for different types of washing and then do the fullest or whoever calls for one wash the most

toscalily Fri 27-Jan-17 18:03:43

Washing is done as and when needed. This usually means two white washes, bed linen and towels washed at 60. At least one dark/coloured wash and one light coloured wash, both at 40 or 30 degrees depending on fabric. Occasionally also do a hand wash for very delicate fabrics such as Silk or Cashmere. I tend to use the maximum spin cycle for most, this is especially important in winter when clothes have to be dried indoors.

I mostly do the washing during the weekend as it's for only 2 people. Do the towels send sheets and the other clothes go together there are not many dark colours which will run. 30 degrees setting. Most weekends or evening as they say it's cheaper at these times.

israrbaig Fri 27-Jan-17 17:41:07

Nothing fancy - pile them up with work shirts and afew home ware items and wash them when i get home on Friday for weekend ironing.

in the summer i aim for washing on Sat morning and dry out in the sun for Sun ironing

Isobelw Fri 27-Jan-17 17:31:22

I separate the washing out into whites colours and towels. Do the washing on Thursdays and Fridays as non work days

headsy12 Fri 27-Jan-17 17:30:00

I wash about five times a week, all the towels and bedclothes have to be washed at 50degrees as the dog has allergies!! I wash whites, coloured and then blacks. The washing powder is whatever is on special and I never use softener.

blondie123c Fri 27-Jan-17 16:56:30

I do one white wash a week, and around 8-9 dark loads. Always wash at 40, and use bio washing capsules.

rubysong Fri 27-Jan-17 16:54:57

No dry cleaning and hardly any hand washing.
Everything at 60 degrees apart from socks, jumpers, bras which are at 40 degrees. I wash overnight, most nights and iron cotton things, bedding etc. I have used Fairy non bio since having a baby with excema, over thirty years ago. I dry outside if possible but use tumble drier most of the winter. No particular days for anything, but I try to keep darks and lights separate.

s861421 Fri 27-Jan-17 16:50:18

No particular routine, just when there is a full load. However I try to keep towels separate, and I try to separate whites / darks

peanutmum Fri 27-Jan-17 16:28:25

I have always grouped washing according to their colour. I have darks and I like my 'whites' to stay light and no odd colours. The towels and tea towels will get the high wash at least once a month.
We invested in solar panels which means when it is 'light and/or sunny' we get free electricity. So I will wash more on those days, to take advantage.
Hardly ever hand wash or dry clean, as I always check the label.
My daughter is allergic to soap powders so never swap and dread to see the on the packet ''NEW and IMPROVED' in case she ends up in a rash.

stefalfie11 Fri 27-Jan-17 15:48:42

Normally 2 loads a week one of clothes and the other of bedding, towels etc. The clothes go on 40 whereas the bedding goes on 60 degrees.

Lisapaige24 Fri 27-Jan-17 14:56:38

I do the Laundry everyday light wash in the morning , Dark Load at lunch time and delicates once the lights and darks have been done , Bedding every Saturday morning, Dog bedding every Saturday after all wash loads are done.

nancytownsend Fri 27-Jan-17 14:56:24

I do a wash most nights (we have cheaper electricity at night). Mostly 30 degrees with one Bold liquid capsule thingy and one Calgon tablet (hard water). All the colours get thrown in together and I don't seem to have had a problem with that. Towels get washed separately, but I don't have a particular day.

janeyjane Fri 27-Jan-17 14:43:42

We have the free fuel deal from BG so all washing & drying gets done on a Saturday. Light, darks, bedding & towels separated - all on a 30 degree wash using fairy non bio. Washing then separated again as to what can go in the dryer or not. All on the line if the day is suitable.
