Certainly the cardboard coffin, and no daft expense, but I'd like a proper goodbye. A quick rundown of my life and times, a couple of the old hymns or songs that mean something to me and mine (Days perhaps, or the aptly named Good Riddance). And a message for those I leave behind, in case I haven't had time to make my goodbyes. Followed by a get-together with plenty of good food and wine. I've written it all down - if my nearest and dearest remember that I've done that I might just get what I want.
Each to their own, of course, but I don't see anything cringe-worthy about a proper send off.
