I want everyone to wear something pink and preferably sparkly. I want pink flowers too. I want Grieg's Morning as I'm brought in, and Walking The Dog as I go out. Other than that, proper hymns, smiles and happy memories, my dogs' collars in with me, and if dogs aren't allowed in heaven, I'm not going...

I want my casket to enter the church to Grieg's Morning. I want pink flowers and everyone to wear something pink and preferably sparkly. I want proper hymns: psalm 23 and Heavenly Father, and I want my casket carried out to Walking The Dog (my epitaph) and the mourners can file out to In The Country and Don't fence me in.

I would like a very simple cremation service, with a wicker coffin. I don't want anyone dressed in black or somber colours as I really don't believe or hold any sway with it being disrespectful to wear anything other than black. I would like the poem, Remember by Christina Rossetti to be read aloud and if people would like to say a few words, that's great but I don't want anyone to feel obliged to speak. I only want flowers from family, and then nothing ostentatious, a simple posy of white roses, daisies and baby's breath would be perfect. The music I would like played are Staind's 'It's Been A While', Three Doors Down 'Here Without You' and last of all my ultimate, from my favourite musical, Defying Gravity from Wicked.

Can't say it bothers me. Cheap and eco-friendly is what matters most to me. I told my daughter that I'd like "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers and she said I'd ruined that song for her forever now!

A very cheap and cheerful send off would do for me, i want a cremation and lots of drinking afterwards!

As long as my family are there and I've got some flowers that's good enough for me. Don't do expensive

I think that my funeral is not for my benefit for those that are left behind so their wishes are paramount. For my part, I'm happy with a cheap casket as it only gets burned and I would like someone to say something nice about me, but only if I deserve it of course. Afterwards I would like them to celebrate my life and share some funny stories with drinks flowing and some good food.

I'm not having a funeral. I've arranged through my G.P and Leeds university to bequeath my body to medical training. They are around 1000 donations short each year.

As an private person an environmentalist and an Archeologist I'd love simple woodland burial, no one there really . A cotton wrappings buried in the hollow of an old tree , and a new one planted on top, Love the idea that in maybe 400 years someone might rediscover me and find my body interesting for a change. I'd prefer a celebration of life than morning my death

A cardboard coffin in white so all my friends can write a personal message on it. A cremation and my ashes scattered into the sea so I can still travel.

I would like to be cremated, the cheapest way possible, no flowers, or they can donate to our locate childrens ward at the hospital instead if they would like too.

I have made it clear that I want to be cremated at our local crematorium and then there is money put aside for my best friend to take my ashes to Australia - and spread them over the water at Hills Inlet, Whitsunday Island. I always wanted to live in Australia but could get in so this is my only way !

I am about to arrange and pay for my funeral. My boys left home 30 years ago and cant be expected to know what I would or would not like so, I will make it easy for them. No black, no sad songs and hopefully enough money left over for them to have a really good party afterwards.

Was there any need for Charleygirl to be so vile to people in such a sensitive thread? I don't understand how it affects you at all and to be honest i've just posted and can't see where it says closed. Maybe be a bit more patient with people. It's petty hun.

It's not just thinking ahead of time. My beautiful daughter was found dead 18 months ago and i wasn't prepared in any way for the horrors of preparing a funeral for my child. Since then i have been thinking about my own funeral and although my daughters was simple and only cost around 2,500 pounds it was beautiful and intimate and invited only 10 of her closest friends. I want that for myself. Basic cremation with only my closest friends and family. I don't need a wake or a anything over the top. I think quick, intimate and a couple of songs i love will be good for me and my family would also appreciate it.

Do you people not understand the meaning of the word CLOSED?

I wish my body to be left to medical science if possible, as I think I like the idea of being useful after my death, and if anything can be learnt from my remains, all the better.

I have already paid and arranged my funeral because I got a wee windfall and I don't want my family to ever worry about the cost or arrangement of organising my funeral. I'm so glad I did

I revised my will recently but did not include funeral wishes. Although I have a list of favourite songs and poems, Desert Island Disc style I have finally concluded that they should surprise me! And whatever is read or sung should be whatever makes my family and friends feel better, although I think Do Wah Diddy Diddy might feature as I mentioned this one to my sister!

Keep it simple, and remember the good times.

Something simple for me. No funeral flowers. Songs I love. My family there.

Life has been troubled so I don't want a miserable send off. Everyone should wear red, the poem Don't weep for me should be read, people should celebrate that I lived, not weep at my passing.I'd like a plain biodegradable coffin. don't care if I am cremated or buried as my soul wont be in the coffin. And I'd like a New Orleans jazz march as people leave the service

My plans are already in place. My family know my wishes about organ donation, that I want to be cremated, that I don't want ANY money spent - or the very least as possible. I have provided all this in a will so they don't have to agonize about what I might or might not have wanted.

I want a small ceremony (for them, not for me) and I have a song selected which I have specified in the will.

I want to be scattered in the Lake District.
