Sleepeezee have recently released personalised dog beds, and to celebrate International Dog Day on the 26th August and dogs all year round, they’d like to hear about the ways your dogs have helped you.

Here’s what Sleepeezee has to say: “British bed manufacturer Sleepeezee is proud to launch a collection of dog beds, in partnership with Battersea Dogs Home, which offer your companion a great sleep. Two distinct styles are available in a selection of sizes and colours, all of which can be personalised with your dogs name on.”

Perhaps the need to get out and walk your dog each day has helped you feel fitter and stronger? Have you learned any important lessons from your dog? Maybe being greeted by your dog’s smiling face and wagging tail at the end of a tough day helps you deal with stress?

However your dog has helped you, share on the thread below and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one GNer will win a £300 voucher for the store of their choice (from a list) and a Sleepeezee dog bed.

Thanks and good luck!

Ozzy our lovely German Shepherd is such a big part of the family. He keeps us all happy and healthy. He loves his walks and cuddles and is always ready to lift our spirits when one of us feels down. He truly is a tonic in a fur coat.

Our girl just helps make life better with her in it. Whenever I have a bad day she is always there with a wag and a cuddle.

our dog jack has helped us stay fit and healthy with his 2 walks a day!

Our dogs have made us become more sociable. When we take them for walks, as they're toy dogs, people are always approaching us wanting to find out more about them. We've made quite a few new friends because of this.

My dog bailey has been there for me through so much. When my relationship of 15 years ended he was there for me and looking after him kept me going. He is my best friend.

Our dogs sometimes infuriate us but more often than not they make us smile.

My adorable Labrador was my life line when I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. When going through chemotherapy he would come and lie on the bed next to me when the days after treatment were incredibly tough to get through. He would put his head on my lap when I cried, he was the only one to see me cry, he never spilled the beans when the day was rough and I divulged my deep thoughts to him. He still loved me deeply when I lost my hair and I looked as rough as anything. I don’t know how I would of got through it all with out him..I truly love him to bits. ??

Our dog is the only reason we lease the house most days smile

Our dog has been great, especially with our children. She has always been attentive to them, and in turn I think it benefits them tremendously.

My little Westie has helped me overcome my depression. He gives me a reason to get out of bed in the mornings, as before I had him it was very difficult to face the days. Walking im has also helped me to go out, whereas before, I found this very difficult too. Lovely prize, thank you for the chance to win.

Mum's little terrier is a big source of comfort and enjoyment to her, she adores her and wouldn't be without her

My dog was my only reason to get up in a morning after my fiance died. She was my rock and if it hadn't been for needing to walk her I may not of left the house again

my dog has been amazing company through everything and is always there for me

I looked after my daughter's child whilst she worked and I know that Bella the beagle taking her & meeting her everyday from school helped to ease away those school worries

With my depression at an all time low Honi makes me walk in the fresh air and socialize when all I want to do is shut myself away.
She also brings me unconditional love and companionship, I'm lucky I have lots of people around me but she is the best at lifting me when down.

kama88 Sat 31-Aug-19 13:39:51

I've grown up with dogs and they're such loving, loyal animals. My dog is the gentlest and sweetest and she has brought out the most maternal instinct in me!

lizd31 Sat 31-Aug-19 13:30:54

Since Olivia got her puppy Tinkerbell, or Tink for short, she is getting lots more exercise taking her on long walks round the reservoir & woods & learning to be responsible with pets

We don't have a dog now - we're away from home too much and wouldn't be able to look after one properly. But the five dogs I grew up with over the years were my trusty and faithful companions and I have wonderful memories of them. Apparently the golden labrador who was part of the family when I was born would guard my pram when I was out in the yard, and refuse to let anyone in. I doubt it went down too well with the family who shared the yard, mind, especially as their toilet was out there. smile

After the heartbreak of losing our elderly dog to cancer, life just wasn't the same. The house wasn't home any more. We found Harvey, a beautiful chocolate labrador at the local animal shelter. He had been there six months and no interest had been shown because he was an elderly boy aged around 11. We were looking for an older boy and Harvey fitted the bill. We rescued him, but he also rescued us

My dog helps me get out walking more. Even in bad weather.

bryonywilson91 Sat 31-Aug-19 12:44:48

I'm incredibly anxious and struggle to leave the house by myself. Since bringing a dog into the house we go everywhere together and it's really helped me.
