We all have a dream destination that we’d love to travel to - somewhere where you’ve always wanted to go, but never got around to visiting. While some would love to go on Safari in South Africa, others would be happier lounging on the white sand beaches of Greece. Whether you’d like to travel near or far, there can be many barriers to travel. Perhaps you simply don’t have the time to travel, or think that the total cost of the trip might break the bank? Or maybe you have fears about not being able to speak the language, or your health not being protected while abroad? With this in mind, Staysure would love to hear from you.

Here’s what Staysure have to say: “At Staysure, we believe that if something’s worth doing, then it’s worth doing right. That’s why our customers voted us the UK’s Best Travel Insurance Provider in the British Travel Awards.

We all want to be able to enjoy our holiday, knowing that we will be covered should something happen. We do not want to have to worry about possible repercussions and for that reason having good quality travel insurance should be a priority.”

If you could book a ticket right now, where in the world would you like to visit? What are the barriers that are stopping you from going (eg health, finances, mobility, fear of flying)? Is travel insurance important to you when booking a trip? Does travel insurance give you the piece of mind that you’ll be protected when abroad, or do you have some reservations about what will be covered.

So whether you want to take the trip of a lifetime or just a short weekend away, share below what it is that’s stopping you and you’ll be entered into a prize draw where one lucky GNer will win a £300 voucher for a store of their choice (from a list).

Thanks and good luck!

I’d love to visit New Zealand. However I’m put off by the cost and the length of the journey. Maybe I’ll brave it one day!

I’ve always wanted to go to Hawaii since I saw Elvis in Blue Hawaii in 1961. I think the scenery is spectacular and the culture fascinating. I,d love to learn to Hula dance in the country of origin .Only thing stopping me is cost and getting someone to come with me.Ah well, the only thing Hula I’ve got is a Hula hoop!

Oh so many places come to mind but my ultimate holiday would be to Santorini the beautiful Greek isle that has the most spectacular sunsets. I will do this one day as I have a bucket list of place and things to do. I take my husband and travelling companion whenever I go as he loves to travel to.

I always wanted to travel and spend time in another country learning the language. One for my bucket list is India but so far haven't had the funds to go. Who knows, maybe this year or next. I wouldn't dream of going without travel insurance because you just don't know what could happen.

I would love to see Venice but there are a few things which put me off. My passport is out of date - is it worth renewing just for one trip? Probably not. I am widowed and lost my best travel partner - I don't want to go alone as I think it would be miserable. Then there's the fear of being ripped off so insurance would be a good idea if it covers that sort of thing, as well as being taken ill.

I would love to go on a Caribbean cruise but persuading my husband to fly that distance and then both of us to journey on water is quite a different matter !

As a student at school, I was lucky enough for the chance to visit Rome for the Olympic games. We attended several events, but being young we didn't fully understand or appreciate the exceptional achievements of the winning contestants.

Since then I have followed the Olympic Games, recognizing the training and overwhelming hard work which goes into winning a medal.

I would love to visit Tokyo this year to visit the Olympic Games, and watch some of the events, the athletics on the track, swimming, diving, and others, routing for our country, hoping we achieve some hard-won medals.

Travel insurance for travelling so far would be essential, notwithstanding the cost of travelling so far, hotels, and tickets for such a prestigious event! Also, the outbreak of Coronavirus is an extreme concern at present.

Therefore, not sure we will manage to go this year, but there is always the Paris games in 2024. Much less distance to travel!

top of my list is San Francisco - love America and have been to New York, Los Angeles, Washington and Orlando so far. We are Foster Carers so have young children at the moment but when they move on I plan on doing a USA road trip to cover most of the cities I still want to visit.

I would love to do an Alaska cruise.
My OH had a few medical conditions that make travel insurance more expensive.
Plus need to do a taster cruise first as i get a bit seasick!

I`ve always wanted a few days in Las Vegas, just for curiosity`s sake, also to go to New York for Christmas shopping. But my dream holiday would be to tour the Western coast of Scotland, including the Western Isles. I love beautiful scenery and history, so would be well accommodated there.
What`s stopping me is my disabled daughter, my cat, my own lack of mobility, and the fact that since my husband died I don`t have the courage to travel alone. Then there`s the cost!
I would always have travel insurance, wouldn`t dare not to, plus many companies make it mandatory.
