I have been having severe hot flushes and night sweats every 45 minutes for the last 14 years, since chemotherapy for breast cancer plunged me into menopause at the age of 47. What i want to know is will these flushes every abate. They have become more and more debilitating with age and I would love to have relief from them as they are severely interfering with my day to day life and my sleep quality.

I've suffered with migraines for 30 years which seem worse around the time of my period, now that my periods are getting more sparse (I'm 49) my migraines seem to be getting less frequent. Could the migraines be hormone linked and is there any research that they could disappear/reduce after menoupause?

I'm 43 and I swear I'm at the beginning of menopause, I haven't had periods for 4 years but think thats due to having the Mirena coil, however I do go through stages of having hot flushes, headaches and my libido seems to have hit the sky also for the past 3 months I've been having really odd dreams

If one can get pregnant while in the early stages will it stop the hair loss, insomnia, foggy brain and other symptoms?

Hi I just wondered if the hot flushes come back? My hot flushes appeared to have abated but I have had a couple while trying to sleep lately, does that mean they are going to start again?

Missingmoominmama Wed 07-Oct-20 09:54:36

I don’t have night sweats, but I do sweat excessively during the day when I have flushes, or when I’m moving about. I’m pretty fit, so I don’t understand that.

I’m still having regular periods most of the time (I’m 54), but occasionally they go a bit odd, and I’ll spot for several weeks, or not have anything for a couple of months. That’s been happening for around 3 years. I get terrible stomach ache before a period, which radiates down my leg- I’m also sick and have diarrhoea.

Does it sound like I’m anywhere close?

The hot flushes, I imagine it is top of the most questions asked, but it is the most awful, most visible symptom that has also got an emotional impact for women. Are there remedies to lessen those?

How can best prepare before menopause starts?

dolly660 Sun 04-Oct-20 13:36:02

My last period was about 20years ago but I thought I was lucky not to experience the menopause symptoms during this time. In the last few weeks I've experienced sudden sensation of heat in my chest and sweat on my brow once or twice a day, could this be me finally getting menopause ? I am 57. I am on various medications which I blame for the sudden infertility,in my thirties.

Is it normal to start bleeding with ovulation as your periods become further apart?

Are women who have a lot of children more likely to be affected by menopause?

I've been wondering about this.
Also, are you more likely to have a rough time if you were prone to PMT?
I'm child free and have never suffered from PMT. I seem to be dealing with the menopause quite well (so far, touch wood etc).

To everyone who is suffering with thinning hair, check if you are vitamin D deficient. I was, and my hair has been awful for years.
Since taking the vitamin D (I had to start on a very high loading dose) my hair is the best it's been for about 15 years.
