My previously independent mother, 89 suddenly became ill in December was admitted to hospital and is now in a care home.
I am her only remaining child my brother died 5 years ago.
My mother is a narcissist and has always treated me with disdain.
I have remained loyal but through gritted teeth.
My mother is now senile and cannot manage her affairs. Two years ago she refused to give me power of attorney as she does not trust me, so I am not able to control her finances.
She took a loan out against her home 8 years ago and now this company own more of her house than she does. The nursing home now has to be paid and I am powerless. I can’t even cancel the subscriptions etc She no longer needs.
I can apply for deputy ship but this is expensive and takes around 12 months.
Have any of you been through similar?
I am frustrated beyond belief.

What is the best way to try and soften the lines from mouth to nose. Have never been a smoker but have a few but not too deep. I've always used serum,mosteriser, toner and night cream regularly.

Is it better to use a brush or a beauty blender to apply foundation to mature skin, in your opinion?

Is black eyeliner too harsh for mature skin? Should I invest in a brown one?

Are there REALLY any benefits in buying high end expensive cosmetics /
creams etc or are we ladies being constantly conned out of our hard earned pennies in order to look & feel beautiful ?

How to get the perfect colour lipstick? Have a drawer full of not quite rights! Do I match my eyes, hair? When I had my colours done I was a warm spring and corals suit me but I find pinks quite hard. Without lipstick I look washed out and tired.

Hiya - have 4 hard small white ‘spots’ but not spots on edge of lower lip and face. Won’t respond to pressure to get the (is it) sebum hard white presumbably pus stuff out. Tried a pad dipped in hot water to soften them. No change. Any solution please.

Having had hints of grey in my hair since my teens I never bothered colouring it but just went with the flow and now it is very much more salt than pepper. Any suggestions for making this look less dull? My hair is dry and cut short. I don't want to colour it but believe there are shampoos and such that can enhance the look and ensure the hair matches the face as it were!

Apart from the very expensive cuticle oil bought from the beauty shop, is there another oil which can be used?

Any tips for extremely sparse eyebrows (almost non-existent) would be gratefully received.

I have a question on fine hair which has wavy kinks and can frizz in damp weather.
Continually blow drying seems to stress, damage or split the hair. Is it best to put product on the hair when it is damp and put rollers in to give body or let the hair dry/semi dry naturally then put product on and rollers in to give body?
Alternatively, what would you suggest for this type of hair to keep it looking presentable.

My hair, which was never thick, seems to have stopped growing so with the inevitable normal loss that everyone has looks thinner and thinner. I am struggling with ways to disguise this fact. I don't want to have one of those bouffant blow dry styles as it's too much to maintain regularly but there must be something I can do. Please help

A problem with ageing , for me anyway, is big dark circles under my eyes. Everyone keeps telling me how tired I look even when I am not! I have yet to find an effective way of hiding them so would value your advice. I find they make me look much older than I should look

Hi Tricia. I really struggle with eyeliner and shadow smudging above my eyes (just under my eyebrows). I put powder on afterward in an effort to make it stay put but after an hour or so I go to the mirror and I've got a lovely shadow where it's transferred. Any ideas?

hello, I'd like to know what your opinion is on sunscreen. We hear advice all the time to slather ourselves in sunscreen to prevent wrinkles etc. but others are starting to question whether we really need to (in the UK at least) and whether this could lead to a lack of vitamin D. I hate to wear anything heavy and greasy under my makeup, so any suggestions as to a very light face sunscreen would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'd be interested to see if you have any skincare or beauty tips for someone with rosacea. Bearing in mind it's not too noticeable and doesn't flair up all the time, but it is making me feel a little self-conscious. Any advice on how i can cover it up would be much appreciated
