I don't know of any suitable for this age group - but having googled them they obviously exist! There are more than you'd think!
If it was my grandchild I would probably go down the book subscription route rather than magazines but if they liked the French magazine I'd take a look at a few editions and buy single (sample) copies of similar ones in English to send by way of a trial.
My children had these as a gift from an American friend years ago- but they were 3 upwards.
Would be interested to know what others come up with.
