Will so miss Johnnie walkers rock shows, he has been with me most of my adult life.
Time for him to rest and hang up his vinyl with Tiggy, I hope they enjoy the time they have together.
Thank you for years of brilliant music 🎵🎶🎵🎶

Oh, thought this was going to say he had died. He has been a constant in my life. For some reason, I remember him playing Blue Mink in about 1970.

Coo - we are both old!!

I loved him and was inconsolable when he left to go elsewhere. When he returned to BBC radio, I was very happy. However, he's very unwell and deserves some peace

I heard him announce it on the radio this afternoon. He will be doing three more shows, until the end of October. He said it has become too much for him physically, as his condition makes it difficult for him to keep up the schedule. It’s very sad as he loves what he does. Bob Harris will be taking over the Seventies show from the beginning of November.

Yes heard his announcement aswell.
Sometimes you can hear him struggle with his breathing.
I do think hes being sensible retireing from Radio now .
Will miss his show ,hopefully bob harris will continue to make his show just as popular as Johnny has.

It’s a wise decision; I’ll miss him, I’ve been a fan since Caroline days.

I wish him a peaceful retirement and may he enjoy every moment he has left

My dear BIL succumbed to the same condition, it’s horrible. Johnnie leaves a great legacy as a presenter and his presence on Radio 2 will be sorely missed. I wish him and Tiggy the very best as they face the difficult path ahead.

I missed his show today but have been a devotee since his Radio 1 days. Like others I wish him and Tiggy all the best and thanks to Johnny for all the years of pleasure he has brought us.

I thought it was going to be about the whisky. As a teetotaller not sure why that popped into my head.
