Has anyone seen Mint on BBC 1?
It’s been a while so I will start us off…….whats for supper and why?
Halloween - love it or loathe it, it's just around the corner. Dressing up in tights and knocking on strangers' doors is (shockingly) not everybody's cup of tea, so we've come up with some alternative ways to celebrate.

Whodunnit? Well, if you organise your own bit of Halloween fun you'll find out! These games have come on in leaps and bounds in the last few years, to the point where you might actually believe you're Poirot (or is that the red wine?) Every guest is given a detailed brief - what to wear, what to say, and whether or not they've bludgeoned a fellow party-goer with some lead piping <rude> - so there's no excuse for not fully embracing your character. You'll have to pull straws for who gets to be the glamorous heiress rather than the overweight priest.
Get some of your cohorts together and it's like life-sized Cluedo in your front room, but with breaks for copious amounts of food and wine, of course. Search online for instructions and briefs, or buy a ready-made pack from Amazon. Just ignore the trick or treaters at the door and you're in for a nail-biting night...

What better way to spend All Hallow's Eve than letting some creaking floorboards scare you silly? There are hotels up and down the country that offer the haunted house experience...but do you dare to book a room?
Who hasn't heard of the famous inn from one of Daphne Du Maurier's best novels? Apparently, the inn boasts a resident ghost, and regular ghost hunts and spooky weekends take place if you fancy the wits scared out of you. Not forgettin, of course, that it's also a lovely place to stay.
As one of the oldest buildings in Britain's oldest recorded town, it's no wonder this hotel is said to be haunted. A former coaching inn, the Tudor building is said to host strong paranormal presences, including a murdered woman and hooded monk. We're shivering already...
Apparently, Mary Queen of Scots paces the corridors at the Talbot Hotel in Oundle. Not surprising, sinc she descended the steps of the building on the morning of her execution, to be taken to nearby Fotheringay Castle. We're willing to bet there won't be many trick-or-treaters around at any of these spooky properties. Uninterrupted terror, then.

Halloween is such an exciting time for most children, and particularly those who are old enough to look forward to dressing as a pirate/ghost/vampire (delete as appropriate). Why not treat them to a child-friendly Halloween outing? Check your Gransnet Local site for Halloween activities and events.
If all of this sounds too much like hard work though, you could always just indulge in a casual Halloween dinner - generous lot that we are, we've even provided a Halloween recipe page to inspire you. Or, y'know, you could just lock your door and go to bed. Whatever you're doing, Happy Halloween, one and all.
