Gransnet is one

It's been a great year woop woop. We've discussed everything from tax to broomsticks; we've taken on politicians and we've partied. We've had the odd glass of wine (hic) and we've eaten, let's face it, an awful lot of cake.

And we've been involved with some lovely people, and they had some great birthday things to say about us:

  • RUBY WAX - "I love Gransnet. People are more interesting the older they get and so are you."
  • ESTHER RANTZEN -  "A very Happy Birthday to Gransnet and congratulations on being a wonderful one year old!"
  • RACHEL REEVES - "Gransnet is a fantastic way to bring grandparents together and ensure their voice is heard. Talking to Gransnet when I was Shadow Pensions Minister was brilliant and a really helpful opportunity to hear all your views, and I can't wait to do so again! So thank you Gransnet, happy birthday and I hope you’ll be giving grandparents a voice for many more years to come!"RUBY WAX - I love Gransnet. People are more interesting the older they get and so are you
  • JOANNA TROLLOPE - "Happy first birthday to a brilliant forum - during my recent webchat, I was so impressed (though being a gran myself, not in the least surprised...) by the standard of contributions to the conversations. Onward - to an even better second year!"
  • JOAN BAKEWELL - "Gransnet was waiting to happen...and it has sprung gloriously to life! Many congratulations, and may your reach grow and your work flourish!"
  • BETSY TOBIN - "Happy First Birthday to Gransnet. Three cheers for the enduring power of collective wisdom and experience."
  • NIKKI KING  - "Happy Birthday to the people who have empowered grannies and made them cool!!!!"
  • SUZI GODSON - "Happy Birthday Gransnet. I'm still recovering from my last visit. Gransnetters are far racier than Mumsnetters! Hope to see you all again soon."
  • PROF ALAN SILMAN - "Warm birthday wishes to the one year old Gransnet from Arthritis Research UK. I thoroughly enjoyed the live webchat in October helping to answer readers’ questions about arthritis, a debilitating condition which affects 1 in 6 people in the UK alone. I look forward to chatting to all the Gransnetters again in the near future."

Check out the lovely things people have been saying about us on Twitter as well [blush] - here's just a flavour:
