No bake chocolate recipe from meringues

Ingredients

225g (8oz) mixture of crushed wholemeal biscuits, chopped nuts and ground almonds
115g (4oz) butter or margarine
1 tbsp golden syrup
1 tbsp good drinking chocolate
Almond essence or brandy (to taste)
Bar of dark chocolate
Dried apricots or sultanas or both

Method

1. Melt butter.
2. Put cocoa, essence, golden syrup into saucepan.
3. Stir well.
4. Add biscuit mixture (I use mainly nuts as Grandpa's on a diet!)
5. Stir well.
6. Put into well greased (I line it) 7" tin.
7. Pour melted choc on top.
8. Put in fridge to set.
9. Mark into portions whilst setting.

Very good and easy to make with grandchildren (without the brandy of course!)

Really easy and can be played around with, with dried fruit, glace cherries etc. I made it for the Royal wedding neighbourhood party, my husband loves it, as do friends
