Ingredients

30g (1oz) sugar
180ml (6 fl oz) milk
170g (6oz) flour
2 eggs
1tbsp baking powder
30g (1oz) melted butter/margerine
1tbsp golden syrup

Method

1. In a large bowl combine butter and warmed golden syrup.
2. Beat in eggs and sugar vigourously,then add milk,sifted four and baking powder.
3. Mix briefly until no lumps.
4. Heat a large frypan and lightly oil.
5. When just smoking drops poonfuls of batter, leaving room for spreading.
6. When bubbles appear on surface flip over and cook untilit springs back when gently touched, 2-3 mins max.
7. Place between clean tea towel until all mix is used . serve with maple or golden syrup, jam and cream or lemon and sugar
