Ingredients

1 cup sugar
1 cup sultanas
1 cup milk
110g (4 oz) margarine
2 cups SR flour
1 beaten egg

Handy Hint

You can replace mashed bananas for sultanas but add at flour stage

Method

1. Place sugar, sultanas, milk and marg in a pan and bring to boil
stirring now and again. Take off heat and leave till tepid.
2. Stir in flour and beaten egg .
3. Place in a lined loaf tin
4. Place in a moderate oven (170C) for 3-45 mins

This loaf turns out very moist and can be used with custard as a pudding !! Will keep well in a airtight tin .
