Ingredients1.4kg (3lb) beetroot2 large onions 225g (½lb) apples 225g (½lb) sugar Juice of one lemon ¼ tsp ground ginger 475ml (1 pint) vinegar |

Method1. Boil beetroot in salt water for one and a half hours, peel and cube.2. Cut onions and apples, place into a pan with the rest of the ingredients and boil for 20 minutes. 3. Add beetroot and boil for a further 20 minutes or until thick. | |||||||||||||||||||
