Ingredients

170g (6oz) self raising flour
115g (4oz) soft brown sugar
1 level tsp bicarbonate of soda
55g (2oz) butter
1 heaped tsp ground ginger
1 rounded tsp golden syrup
1 egg

Handy Hint

After shaping into a ball - gently drop them onto tray They will cook into a very professional looking biscuit

Method

1. Place the dry ingredients in a dish.
2. Mix all the ingredients (except the egg) together and add the beaten egg bit by bit to make a stiff consistency.
3. Roll in hand to make pieces about the size of a walnut.
4. Bake on greasproof paper for 15-20 minutes at 180C (350F/Gas 4)
