Ingredients

2 cups (15 fl oz) brown rice
1 tbsp oil
Salt to season
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp curry powder
1 onion

Method

1. Heat the oil in a pan, add rice and coat grains thoroughly.
2. Add boiling water and salt, stir then cover and cook for about 40 mins until water is absorbed.
3. Peel and finely chop the onion.
4. Heat oil and fry onion until soft.
5. Add tumeric and cumin and cook for 2/3 minutes
6. Stir in rice and heat gently
7. Add curry powder and season to taste.
