Ingredients

400g chick peas (drained)
1 medium onion (finely chopped)
1 large egg
4 tbsp tahini (sesame paste)
75g fresh white breadcrumbs
1/2 tsp dried chilli flakes
1/2 red pepper (deseeded and chopped)
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Rolls, mixed salad and ketchup or sweet chilli sauce to serve.

Method

1. Place all the ingredients, except for the oil, in a food processor and pulse until well combined but not smooth.
2. Shape the mixture into 4 burgers, pressing firmly with your hands so they hold their shape.
3. Heat the oil in a large frying pan and cook the burgers for 2-3 mins each side until golden. Serve in rolls with a mixed salad and either ketchup or sweet chilli sauce.
