Ingredients340g (3/4 lb) dried fruit225g (1/2 lb) sugar 225g (1/2 lb) cooking marg boil all these together for 3 mins, allow to cool 450g (1lb) self-raising flour sifted with mixed spice 1 egg beaten with 1/4 litre (1/2 pint) milk. |
Handy HintYou can add treacle, marmalade, nuts etc or sprinkle demerara sugar on top |
