Method1. Add the milk and sugar to a bowl and stir constantly over a medium heat until the sugar dissolves.2. Remove from heat and add the baking soda, which helps to prevent lumps. 3. Whisk the mixture thoroughly and then return to the heat. The mixture should get to the point where it is bubbling quickly but NOT boiling over. Be careful about this. 4. Let it simmer for between 1 and 2 hours, stirring occasionally. The colour will change from white to tan, and the mixture will thicken. 5. Take it off the heat when it's reached the colour and thickness you want. Serve over pancakes or ice cream or eat straight away. | |||||||||||||||||||
