MethodA very flexible soup made in minutes.Saute spices in a little ghee, butter or margarine. This step is optional, the soup is delicious without it. OR: Place stock, spices and lentils in a pot and bring to boil, simmering until dal/lentils are soft. Takes only a few minutes. That's all. This was a favourite soup when I was a student as lentils were cheap and we could make a hot, filling soup for very little when friends arrived unexpectedly. Nice with crusty French bread and butter. |
