Went to the village shop, and no surprise, were talking about the weather.
The daughter of the shop keeper is a nurse. In the current weather situation, they can be collected by 4 wheel drive vehicles to enable them to get to work.
BUT there is no provision to get them home after their shift, however they can stay overnight in the nurses accommodation block, but they have to pay £50 a night!
They want the nurses to come in, and actually put measures in place to enable that, but once they have them there, just seem to wash their hands of them!
It would seem that the alternative is to get agency nurses in, which would cost more on an hourly rate.
For heaven's sake, if they are prepared to bring the staff in,
and (in this case) the nurse is on Rota for 4 nights, you would think they could accommodate them without changing £50 a night!
