Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cupcake flowers wine sunshine smile

soop Tue 08-Sep-15 13:33:03

bags...that's my girl. wink

What a busy lot you you've all been. Now then...as you know darn well, Crafting a Kitcheners cupboard is never empty. We simply close our eyes and imagine whatever we fancy and hey presto...there it will be.

Okay, Galen no need to ask whether you are having a spectacular time. We are all just a weeny tad [envious] but we're also very happy for you.

loopylou I know that the weather is improving...even as I speak, the mist is evaporating over the sea, and there is a glimmer of sunshine.

Bella It is bound to be a difficult day for both your dear sister and you. Zim needs you. Cats are canny. She will soon discover that her "Mummy" is home. I bet that she walk towards you, tail upright and greets you with a purr of welcome.

I've been with the ladies in the care home. During my visit the beautiful golden retriever (Sandy) walked into the sitting room with his tail wagging furiously. He takes it in turn to sit with every resident. One man is very poorly. He hardly ever appears to be awake or aware of his surroundings. Sandy went directly to him. The smile on the gentleman's face was wonderful to see.

Luckygirl I have lost count of the kitchen extensions. Perhaps GNHQ could enlighten us sometime.

number The dog (now deceased) belonged to a friend. He asked me to do a painting to give his wife at Christmas. I shall hopefully manage to have it professionally mounted and framed. I shall then take a proper photograph.

soop Tue 08-Sep-15 14:08:26

Luckygirl Happy birthday greetings from us lot to you. wine cupcake flowers

kitty Are you beginning to recover from the UTI? I'm sorry that I forgot to ask before today. Keep warm and relax. (hug) x

kittylester Tue 08-Sep-15 14:18:34

Feeling loads better thank you soop. sunshine

You must feel really torn Bella but you will always cherish the memories of this visit. flowers

And, don't worry about zim. DS1 went away for the weekend having left the cat outside. We dutifully went over morning and evening to feed him but he was nowhere to be seen. Was a bit nervous about telling DS but got a text saying that the cat was on the mat waiting for him when he got home. Little (s)tinker!! grin

Bellanonna Tue 08-Sep-15 14:56:18

Bellasnana. Hopefully you will go back to far nicer weather in Malta. I do wish tou well for the different future ahead of you. Your cat is probably punishing you for being away, but do hope she turns up soon to welcome you back. All the best x

soop Tue 08-Sep-15 15:27:47

I feel that I've done as much as I can with the portrait. It needs to be cropped and mounted in an oval frame. However, something isn't 100% to my liking. I shall therefore start again. Daft as a paintbrush...me! wink

jollyg Tue 08-Sep-15 15:43:01

Well you are a wonder with the portrait.

May I kindly suggest there is not enough space at the LHS, and that ear is very important to the composition.

Lona Tue 08-Sep-15 15:49:35

Crafting yes, lemon drizzle is my downfall favourite, but I brought one for kitty as she had a UTI, made her a cuppa and she must have scoffed the lot! Fancy not passing it round! shock wink
Anyway, here's another, plus a chocolate cake with black cherries and fresh cream AND........ a bottle of bubbly too.
Don't say I never bring anything exciting! grin

Lona Tue 08-Sep-15 15:53:34

Bella Have a safe journey home and I'm sure your little cat will be waiting! It will be very sad for you to leave your sister, no question.
But you can look forward to seeing little Bella sunshine

kittylester Tue 08-Sep-15 16:05:23

I swear I left half of it there on the work surface - honest blush!

May I have some chocolate cake now please with a little something to wash it down. Thank you Lona. grin

soop Tue 08-Sep-15 16:25:57

Thank you. jollyg I shall bear your opinion in mind. I have no formal training. It is useful to have guidance. We were given a rough idea of the size of mount that I should work to. x

Lona A glass of bubbly for all our Kitcheners As for lemon drizzle cake...I could eat a dainty slice right this minute.

Safe travels to our Bella x

Just looked on the Snapshot of the NHS thread and seen that Alea's DH may have had a stroke. He had a suspected TIA yesterday and had an appointment today to be checked. Lots of love to her if she pops in. sad

soop Tue 08-Sep-15 16:29:08

Alea, thinking of you and your husband, best wishes.
Bellasnana, have a safe journey back to Malta, and hopefully Zim will be waiting when you arrive.
Soop, I don`t know what else you can do regarding the painting, it looks great from here. Hoping to contact you soon regarding a certain German Shepherd youngster.
I`ve just booked myself onto a coach trip to Milton Keynes at the end of October, going to meet up again with Angiebaby.

soop Tue 08-Sep-15 17:09:02

number I look forward to a photo of you-know-who. My sister lives in Milton Keynes. It is good to have something to look forward to.

Beautiful day. Bright sunshine. A calm sea. A black cat lolling on the doormat. grin

HappyNan1 Tue 08-Sep-15 17:53:05

I think your picture is lovely soop
flowers and hugs to all who need them.

soop Tue 08-Sep-15 18:12:20

HappyNan Hello again. It is lovely to have you back in the kitchen. To be perfectly truthful with you, I'm not doing at well with sketching the collie yet again. I'm surrounded by so much "rubbish" I feel that perhaps I should tidy the so-called studio, clear away the detritus and begin anew tomorrow. Seems like a good plan.

Ironing for my pal tomorrow morning. I shall return to you lovely lot as soon as I return home and settle down to a further afternoon of arty-farty frustration. wink

Bellasnana Tue 08-Sep-15 19:56:47

Just finished my last basket of ironing for dear sister and BiL before I leave tomorrow. Thank you for all your kind words and wishes. Will check in again once I get back home. smile

Alea Tue 08-Sep-15 20:04:42

Whew, what a 36 hours!
Yesterday's symptoms which we assumed to be a TIA (inability to move right arm and loss of speech) seemed to be threatening again today although less severely. DH's thinking and articulation seemed confused, had trouble with his iPad and right arm definitely weaker so I did 111 and they were v helpful. The upshot was that an ambulance brought him to his appointment at the TIA clinic (phone call at 8.30 for an appointment at 2 today, how's that for service?) and the specialist decided he needs an MRI scan and an echo. It is likely to have been a minor left side stroke, affecting his right side (arm only) eyes (?) and the speech area of his brain. Honestly he is quite articulate , just slower at finding the words. So he is in the "Acute Stroke Unit" which sounds much more acute than he warrants!
I popped home for PJs etc and dashed back only to find his bed empty as he has gone off for his MRI and as visiting finishes at 8, so may have to go without seeing him.
Well done NHS and MKH. I /we have had fantastic service, from the 999call and the ambulance yesterday which was with us in just over 10 minutes, to 111, really friendly and compassionate paramedics and now this bright but peaceful stroke ward with friendly and caring nurses.
I am now looks GN forward to a nice cupcake and a glass of wine when I get home!

kittylester Tue 08-Sep-15 21:12:51

Hope you get home soon Alea and glad DH is getting good care. Try to get a good night's sleep. flowers

Alea Tue 08-Sep-15 21:13:51

janerowena Tue 08-Sep-15 21:18:07

HappyNan1 Tue 08-Sep-15 21:52:25

Goodness me Alea what a worrying time, so glad everyone has been so kind and helpful. I hope you have a good sleep tonight knowing DH is being well looked after and that he improves quickly. flowers and wine

HappyNan1 Tue 08-Sep-15 21:57:33

Soop, can we have an old quiet black labrador in the new extension please? She's very good and likes cats, she does snore quite a lot though grin. She'd love all the visitors and is great at clearing up any cake crumbs from the floor.....
