DGD (3) lightly and effortlessly lifted herself up and over the arm of a chair to sit neatly on the seat. I said 'I wish I could do that'
She said 'Never mind, when you're older you might!'
hmm

Just now -
DGS (aged 3) We went to KFC when we were at Daddy's
Me (aged 66) Aren't you lucky, I love KFC but I can't have it.

DG2 age 5 told me I would like the ice cream shop they had been to but said, with a very serious face, if I'm not with you Granny, don't ask for the lemon borset, it's very sour. (Lemon sorbet)! grin

From the mouth of my 3 year old GS - "F***s sake is a very rude word Grandma." I am hoping that he heard this at nursery. I agreed with his analysis wholeheartedly! Gulp!

Told my 6 and 8 year old grand-children that I didn't have a TV when I was a child. Look of absolute horror on both faces then one asked "what did you do when you wanted to watch something?"

All seated having Sunday dinner.
Dgd 7 says...granny, I've been thinking. If you're a whole 5 years older than Granda, how come you look sort of old but Granda looks really old?
Doesn't make up work wonders smile

My dad was partially sighted and when I was on holiday with my auntie (I was about 8) I told her I was going to buy my dad a copy of The Listener, because he was blind and had to listen a lot.

DGS when aged 6/7....his mother called him a comedian to which he replied, "don't be silly Mummy, if I was a comedian my tongue wouid stretch to the other side of the room"

GDG aged 2 in the bathroom yesterday, on spotting our small nailbrush.
"Ooh look, a little scrubber!".

whenim64 Thu 14-May-15 09:07:29

Grandaughter (3) yesterday. 'Let's play I Spy! My turn - I Spy with my little eye.' Looks round the room.....'erm, erm, what does babywipes begin with?' grin

Mishap Thu 14-May-15 10:11:53

When my little sister (much younger than I) was playing I-Spy she saw something beginning with J. We all trawled through everything in the room with no success, so we gave in. Triumphantly she said "Jressing gown!"

annodomini Thu 14-May-15 10:52:32

A neighbour's child said 'something beginning with w'. After many minutes of fruitless guessing, her parents gave up. Triumphantly she declared, 'Wadiator'!

Falconbird Thu 14-May-15 11:57:13

I collected 12 TY dolls for my little grand daughter. She loves them and plays all sorts of games with them. They have lovely hair and easy to take off outfits.

One day when we were playing schools she looked at me and said

"Nan when you're by yourself do you play with the dollies?"

I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.

nannieroz111 Thu 14-May-15 12:51:51

Aw ladies, these stories are just magic medicine. More please!!!!!!!! smile
