ooh has to be Twinkle with Nurse Nancy, she was such an inspiration lol, I went on to be a nurse then a midwife. But my all time favourite had to be Jackie, oh how I love thee Jackie, all those cool things to make, gathering nettles to make shampoo, yum. I home educate my grand daughter and she loves the annual I got 2 years ago.

I always loved the Archie series!

I was a total tomboy, so I loved the Beano and Batman comics because they were more daring and the girls' comics often didn't have as much adventure in them for me. But I also loved to read novels, including Michael Hardcastle football novels.

I started off with Twinkle and then moved onto The Beano and Dandy. I can't remember any characters from Twinkle but I used to love Dennis the Menace and Desperate Dan for his Cow Pies :-)

I read Jackie, it appealed to me :- suitable for my age at the time. Whilst I believe that sometimes there were nice free gifts with the magazine at times e.g. colourful bangle. As a family we also got the Beano etc, as we enjoyed the humour.

balloon666 Mon 18-May-15 13:58:13

I used to read a comic called 'Misty' (i think it was called that) I loved it because i thought it was more 'grown up' !

JACKIE was my weekly treat, I also read my brothers Beano when the boys had all had a turn with it

henbane Fri 15-May-15 16:25:58

When I reached double figures I used to read Mirabelle etc - ie the girly ones - but when younger I loved Wizard & Hotspur because they had lots of written stories as well as the picture stories so took longer to read - I was never very visual!
