Last November one or two of you may remember that DH and myself were going to look after our 2 young grandsons whilst their parents had their first much needed weekend break. However the youngest GS nearly two had just been released from hospital after a bronchial infection.
With a heavy heart we said it was too much of a responsibility to look after the little one on our own and we were prepared to stay and look after the boys in the day but not at night.
My DinL who had been on a knife edge with her emotions, as this was one of many hospital visits our GS had gad since his birth, just went into meltdown and had a terrible row with our son and it was a very tense weekend.
Fortunately our DinL's parents backed us and we had an amicable parting on the Monday.
Anyway the update on this scenario is this past weekend the 2 and 4 year old GSs came for their first two night sleepover with us. We had planned it with military decision (as they are 2 very full on boys) with a schedule of food, activities and alternatives to suit the weather.
By the time they left we were literally on our knees. However their parents had had a wonderful weekend break and looked so much better which was our intention.
As they left in the car the boys were shouting 'Love you Nanny and Grandad' - a result.
We may need recovery in a darkened room for a week, but it was worth it.
What do you think would go well with coasters like this?
Have any of you got all electric cars? Pros and cons please.
