Ok, We have finished digesting the the Missoni Bar's blue ice lollies and organised the theatre visit in December, now to turn our minds to October.

There were six or seven people interested in meeting then. I shall PM you all to check that you are still on, but meanwhile would anyone else like to join us?

Possible dates are:-
The first week (any day)
The 13th, 14th and 15th
The week from 17th to 23rd (any day)

Any preferences within those dates?

When and where shall we meet?

Marelli Mon 15-Sep-14 17:19:54

I'm fine for all of October, apart from the 8th, Elegran. smile

glassortwo Mon 15-Sep-14 18:22:25

I cant make it sorry. sad
We are going away on an unexpected holiday and wont be back until the middle of October and I would imagine that DD will be pulling her hair out being on her own with the 3 DGC and will off load them as we exit the airport and head for work. sad

Elizabeth1 Mon 15-Sep-14 21:32:45

Sorry Eleanor I'm not going to be free this month - busy busy busy. envy

ffinnochio Tue 16-Sep-14 15:27:39

Re-considering my options, so when a date is decided, then I can look at flight availability and costs. Fingers crossed. smile

First week would be my preference.

Elegran Tue 16-Sep-14 18:25:16

Glassortwo, Elizabeth1, Moomin Sorry you won't be there.

ffinnochio I do hope you can make it. It is a long way, but if you come for a few days I am sure you will enjoy yourself.

It sounds as though the first week is the most popular. Now, do we want the weekend (Sat 4th or Sun 5th) or a weekday (Wed 1st, Thur 2nd, Fri 3rd or Mon 6th or Tue 7th) ?

baubles Tue 16-Sep-14 18:40:56

I can only make Sunday the 5th from those dates. If another date suits the majority I'll see you all the next time.

Jane10 Wed 17-Sep-14 08:40:30

Sat or Sun 4th/5th would be fine by me. Still have to show myself at work during the week. Mostly!

besottedgran Wed 17-Sep-14 08:47:11

Saturday 4th would be good for me.

besottedgran Wed 17-Sep-14 11:33:40

Oops! Sorry - crossed wires - Saturday 4th no good for me after all.

thatbags Wed 17-Sep-14 18:47:23

First week best for me too, though later in the month (from Monday 20th) would be fine also.

I do hope you can come, ffinn smile

Penstemmon Wed 17-Sep-14 18:58:54

Oh I'd love a trip to Edinburgh but am away from 15th to end of the month and have limited diary space earlier..but I will keep an eye on this thread and if I can do the date you decide, and if OK with you all, I might pop up!

Elegran Wed 17-Sep-14 19:16:10

So it sounds as though Sunday 5th October suits everyone, with a few not confirmed?

To recap>-
Thatbags, Marelli, Baubles, Marmight, Jane10, Penstemmon and I can make the 5th. (welcome to Jane10 and Penstemmon)
Ffinnochio probably can (hope so)
Elizabeth1 might be there if this baby gets a move on. (give DD a nice curry)
I am not sure whether Besottedgran can or not confused (hope so)
We still have to hear from Gillybob. I shall PM her again.

Moomin can't and Glassortwo will probably be snowed under with granny duty.
If I have got that wrong, please clarify.

besottedgran Thu 18-Sep-14 05:44:20

Hope not too late to add me? Sunday 5th works!

Elegran Thu 18-Sep-14 08:16:09

Never too late! Will add your name.

It looks as though a lunch is the preferred nosh.

ffinnochio Thu 18-Sep-14 08:21:53

I can make Sunday 5th Oct. for lunch. See you all there. #inthemoodforanadventure

Elegran Thu 18-Sep-14 08:36:32

Good news, Ffinnochio and Besottedgran !

So it seems we will be nine or ten for lunch on Sunday October 5th:-
*Ffinnochio
Besottedgran
Thatbags
Marelli
Baubles
Marmight
Jane10
Penstemmon
Elegran*
A slight chance of Elizabeth1
Any more for any more?

I've not had any suggestions for a venue. Will you just take my choice?

Jane10 Thu 18-Sep-14 12:41:26

Somewhere central? What sort of food do people prefer? There are lots of places in and around George St?

Marmight Thu 18-Sep-14 14:49:24

....or even in the Grassmarket : something Italian/French where we can take our time? wine

Marelli Thu 18-Sep-14 15:18:59

Grassmarket sounds like a good plan? smile

Marelli Thu 18-Sep-14 20:55:12

For me, it's between Le Monde and Petit Paris. But then again, I'm very happy to go with the flow. smile

baubles Thu 18-Sep-14 21:38:37

My vote would go to Gennaro as there are plenty of veggie choices on the menu.

I'd be happy with any of them though, they all have something I could eat.

Elegran you are a star for organising this again. smile

ffinnochio Fri 19-Sep-14 09:16:09

A vote from me for Gennaro - Italian would make a nice change smile

Marelli Fri 19-Sep-14 09:31:04

I bet it would, ffinnochio - I'll go for Gennaro, too! smile
