It's wet windy nasty day here in Lancashire at the mo..... if someone said "right pack a bag and be ready in hour, where would you go for the weekend to be back Sunday evening? hmm

The weather is horrible here in Northern Ireland also so a spa visit would be lovely.

Harrogate, I love it there.

If I only had an hour most of it would be taken up packing DH's stuff - or can I leave him behind?

I'd head for somewhere on the Norfolk coast with plenty of coats, fleeces, boots, scarves etc., thrown on the back seat of the car then we'd be guaranteed a heat wave.

Would love to hire a Motor Home for the weekend, Lytham St Ann's first, then onto Wales, Conwy, Llandudno...

merlot passengers are optional grin

I would go somewhere warmer! I just checked and Seville is 29 degrees! - it's flipping freezing in London today.

I suppose I would go and visit one of my children.

Any holidays I go on, I tend not to pick myself.

Gk, you've just chosen my favourite city, so I'll have Barcelona and keep a tight hold on my wallet.

I'd hop on a plane to somewhere in Italy, maybe one of the Lakes like Garda or Como. A weekend relaxing in luxury with a view of lakes and mountains, sitting in the warmth.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 29-May-15 14:40:43

Seville. I should have been there today but we Left booking too late. hmm

27 degrees and lovely sunshine

Sigh!

janerowena Fri 29-May-15 14:45:44

Zanzibar!

janerowena Fri 29-May-15 14:47:00

Ok, maybe a bit far... Tenerife. I was astonished to find that quite a few people go there for long weekends. Living near an airport at this end must help. I wouldn't want to stay near it at the other end though.

janerowena Fri 29-May-15 14:47:48

No, I've changed my mind, I could fly to Nantes from Stansted to visit a friend.

jinglbellsfrocks Fri 29-May-15 14:53:00

What have I got instead? Next week - Wales. And a cold coming on. hmm

durhamjen Fri 29-May-15 14:53:52

York. Favourite city whatever the weather.

ninathenana Fri 29-May-15 14:55:28

I hate airports (I do like flying) and live on the coast so I think it would be somewhere in Lake district with stunning views and a lovely gastro pub near by.

merlotgran Fri 29-May-15 14:57:46

Yes. If I only had a weekend I'd steer clear of airports. Knowing my luck there'd be a baggage handlers strike or something.

hildajenniJ Fri 29-May-15 15:07:46

A mini cruise from Port of Tyne to Amsterdam. At this time of year the Keukenhoff Gardens are beautiful.
I wish I was there.

aggie Fri 29-May-15 15:15:56

Oh anywhere !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! well maybe Edinburgh , got three offspring and four granddaughters there , they do keep asking me but I hate airports

durhamjen Fri 29-May-15 15:19:51

Haven't had a passport for over ten years, so abroad is out. Even if I had, I'd still choose York.

J52 Fri 29-May-15 15:28:18
