Picture book of the month

Kitchen DiscoFor August, a rhyming night time adventure for children who will love finding out what the fruit get up to when everyone else is asleep.

At night when you are sleeping
There's a party in your house,
It's a pumping, jumping, funky bash
When all the lights go out . . .

When the sun goes down, the Kitchen Disco starts up - and all the fruit in the fruit bowl come out to play. There are lemons who break-dance, tangerines who twirl and some very over-excited apples.

Kitchen Disco is a brightly coloured party that invites children to join in, with brightly coloured spreads, a memorable chorus and a phenomenally sparkly disco ball!

This is Clare Foges's first book. When she's not writing about dancing fruit, she works as Speechwriter to David Cameron.

Al Murphy is a versatile illustrator whose work has appeared in newspapers, advertising and apps, and now children's books. He has lived in London, Berlin and New York. His previous books for Faber include the Woozy the Wizard series.

Kitchen Disco is available from all good booksellers. We are delighted to have 50 copies to give away. Please note that only registered Gransnet usernames will be entered into the draw.
