soop you are a star!
Gorgeous family xx

soop Fri 28-Sept-12 17:20:53

anno I know what you mean. A sense of humour is priceless. You will be at his graduation. And your smile will be as warm and wonderful as it was when you first held him in your arms. I'm planning an outfit for the wedding which all the family hope will take place within the next two years. Have just heard that Kirsty has secured her fist job in a law firm. A great way to end the day. grin

annodomini Fri 28-Sept-12 15:41:45

Yes, soop, it is. The day my first grandson was born, I was cuddling him and he gave me such a knowing look that I somehow knew he was going to have a sense of humour and he is, at the age of 8, such a joker! And I said to him that day that I would be there at his graduation. I will be about 85 then!

soop Fri 28-Sept-12 15:10:43

anno Isn't it lovely that we're fit-to-bust-proud concerning our grandchildren. They are all seem so different. And yet...grin

annodomini Fri 28-Sept-12 15:01:21

Bright and good-looking too, soop. A lovely family and you have so much to be proud of. They are lucky to have you as a matriarch. Torben looks like being up there with the best of them! I hope I will be in a position to be as proud as you, though my tribe is less extensive. No 1 GD is about to start her final year at Manchester Met. I'm very proud of her - she's a lovely sociable girl and has been working hard despite her dyslexia. The young ones are all still in primary school but already showing certain aptitudes, from athletics, to maths, through art and writing!

soop Fri 28-Sept-12 14:20:55

Now I'm all misty eyed. How kind you are. smile
Hannah is the eldest, and she is studying art and photography in London. Her brother, Will, is also studying art at a different uni' in London. Ethan, their young brother is dyslexic [and very bright with it!] Kirsty is beautiful and brainy and graduated this year with a 1st in Law. She and her very suitable partner [who maintains aircraft in the Navy] live together in Hampshire. Lauren her younger sister [21 next year] is reading several ologies at Bristol uni'. Lauren is a "people person"...kind and great fun. Louie is their young brother.
So, that's it...lots of bragging, and big hugs for listening. Have uploaded extra pics from the weekend. I wasn't able to shift them to the top. confused

Brag away soop. It's lovely to hear about your grandchildren, and everyone else's too smile

Oldgreymare Fri 28-Sept-12 08:37:54

Me too!
Shopping the other day, a harrassed Mum was trailing a weepy little girl around.
Mum said 'I do wish you'd stop crying'.
Child replied:
'I might stop if you buy me something'.
I giggled!

Greatnan Fri 28-Sept-12 07:55:10

Soop - if a grandmother can't boast a little about her lovely grandchildren, who can? I love the idea of needing something and not knowing what as I often feel the same way myself!

Littlenellie Fri 28-Sept-12 07:40:32

soop lovely children, you have every reason to be besotted with them,we need to hear about the girls next, obviously they would be so lovely, look where the genes come fromsunshine they all have soop in their bloodxxxxxxx

annodomini Fri 28-Sept-12 00:10:07

Brag all you like, soop. You have every right - they sound like every granny's dream! And it gives the rest of us an excuse for doing likewise. wink

Oldgreymare Thu 27-Sept-12 23:11:16

They sound like lovely young people Soop.

Have been reliving our weekend with family. Wee man has a very good grasp of language [he's two and a half] and has one phrase in particular that he says for no apparent reason [other than he likes to add to a conversation]. He'll often raise an eyebrow, sigh in a theatrical way, and say...'I think I need something.' When asked what that something might be, he whispers, 'I don't know yet...'
Our thirteen year old grandson is severly dyslexic. He attends a school with a maximum of eight pupils to a class. He is extremely bright but hopeless with the written word. We always ask him about his latest interests. At the weekend, he told us that he was "into 11th century Teutonic knights" and proceeded to give us masses of info and data on the subject. We wonder how he will ever fulfil his ambition to become a curator of a museum of antiquities. He's in Pompeii with the school this week.
The other 13 year old grandson is athletic. Plays for the junior football and cricket teams and is well into the martial arts and cycling. What I love about him, is that he has been awarded several cerificates for being a good role model and valued member of the school.
Oh dear, I seem to be doing far too much bragging. blush
I'll look up possible accommodation for our forthcoming visit to Gally's - we're to combine it with our anniversary celebration.

Marelli VERY funny! grin

Greatnan Mon 17-Sept-12 15:17:23

Nice one, Marelli! smile

Marelli Mon 17-Sept-12 15:08:17

Greatnan, I bought a plate rack from Lakeland, and ended up decorating the whole kitchen.....which wasn't quite as expensive as the time we went to town to buy some de-icer from Poundstretchers. Outside the store was a display of new cars - we ended up buying one - and forgot to go into Poundstretchers for the de-icer! I'm not nearly as impulsive these days, thankfully! grin

Going away, albeit for a brief time, means that I need to rummage through the wardrobe, surround myself with possible outfits fit for purpose, wade knee deep through accessories and parade before Mr soop. I ask...'should I take this'?...over and over. confused I can tell by his expression which outfit pleases him. hmm Then I retire to the bedroom...repeat the process, and reach my own conclusions. Later, he enquires, 'was I any help?' I grin. He grin We understand each other too well...wink That's women for you. smile

soop Mon 17-Sept-12 14:14:22

Nana that sounds like great fun. I can see the gathering in my mind's eye. smile

Couldn't see any AstroTurf in Bourton-on-the-Water, though a lot of worn grass by the little stream. We were group of 13 adults, 4 children and 2 dogs, sitting on the banks,m sipping Cava and singing 'Happy Birthday' (SiL 40th) in case anyone else saw us.
