I don't know about troublemakers - I would not like to call anyone that - but several new people lately (can't remember who) have seemed to think Gransnet is a site for one-on-one personal chats or for dating, and get quite annoyed when no-one reponds on that level. Is there a misunderstanding around? Some mistaken publicity? Should GNHQ have a quiet word with them?
I don't mind being called 'Middle Class'....its a welcome demotion from the 'Posh' that I was always abused with when at school......and that only happened because when I was growing up in Swindon in the 60's my Mum brought us up 'speaking properly'..whatever that was!!!!!
Good point elegran - I wonder what relic, messenger et al have to say? Perhaps GN publicity is misleading orperhaps they are lonely and sad people who will give anything a try? It annoys when we give them a friendly welcome and get it thrown back in our faces.
She changes her name from time to time, although that is not really allowed. Those of us who knew her in her earlier incarnations still think of her by her old name(s) She answers to any of them (or "oy you" )
