Yes, Stansgran, the very name Callard & Bowser reminds me of those neat little boxes of nougat, and butterscotch which had such a sublime flavour and lasted such a long time. The most 'caramel' taste I can remember ever. And didn't C&B also make mixed toffees including nut, mint and chocolate which you bought loose from the big jar. If funds permitted I would go for the full half pound, but have been known to resort to just 2oz. And wasn't there another brand of toffees called Bluebird? Then Cadburys Chocolate Eclairs appeared and swept all before, including the acid Trebor's Sherbert Lemons which scoured your mouth out before the Sherbert kicked in. Happy days!
