Afternoon ladies. What wonderful news Librachicksmileit's great to hear that you're seeing your gc.

So good to see your post Yogagirl and to know that you've been having some good times with your friends. Sorry to hear about your prev. m.i.l.sad but pleased to learn that you've made peace with those your s.i.l. had tried to turn against you. Just goes to show doesn't it, how things change when some one finds themselves on the receiving end. Keepsmilebecause may be one day you'll find yourself making peace with your D.

It just isn't fair is it, that your ex who isn't bothered about seeing his gc. can and you, who are so desperate to see them can't.

Hope you're OK Celebgran. No change here but at least there's all this lovely weather to enjoy and we're both definitely getting stronger. Have a great week every one.wineandflowersto help you along.

Yogagirl Mon 28-Jul-14 16:38:43

Saw a picture of my ex & my darling GC , upset me
as he doesn't care if he sees them or not, (he's visiting from Indonesia).
My little Laila looks Just like my D at that age & little Jack is looking like
his dad (nasty s.I.l)
Not good writing this on my little mobile , so I'll be back later. Tablet broken!

Yogagirl Sun 27-Jul-14 20:32:17

Well done Rosie for winning star pet! you must be proud of her Celebgran & glad you had good trip away & congratulations on your 37yr ann!! flowers
Thank you for the smiley faces Smileless & nice to hear you had a good trip to Portugal, good luck with the next 10week gym course, rather you then me! wine & some more wine needed I think, but don't tell them at the gym!!
Librachick very happy for you, enjoy every minute flowers
I've had some good nights/days out with my friends & ND since I was on here last. I was in a bit of a dark place when I wrote last, but ok now, suppose that's how it goes for all of us on here.
My prev. m.i.l sadly passed away, I went to her funeral on Friday in London, all were there (not estranged D). I made up with everyone that my nasty s.i.l had turned against me, as of cause he has now turned on them as well! I even made peace with my ex! But he visited them yesterday, so not sure if the reconciliation stands, after the visit. But found out some interesting news, they (D&s.i.l) have moved in with his M&D! I don't know when, but that can't be good for relations, they couldn't have paid their rent, yet he has just opened that reptile shop! So things, maybe Karma, are happening!!

LibraChick Fri 25-Jul-14 18:47:06

Dear Smileless2012 & all other Grans. Just to let you know, we are getting to have all three grandchildren on Sunday. D is allowing us to take them to church and then go to see the Kelpie’s near Falkirk. I will give them lots of hugs and hug them from and for you ladies. Hubby is picking them up at 09:00 then back for 18:00.

We are also getting to take them to 2 shows at the Edinburgh Festival on Friday 8 August. We’re not allowed to have them overnight, but that’s okay, we’re downsizing anyway. Again 09:00 – 18:00. So we will also take them out for lunch and take them on the controversial Trams in Edinburgh.

Yogagirl your roaring 20s Party sounds great. Hope you managed to do your own classes and your colleagues classes too. Hard work. It is very hard when colleagues and friends share photo’s and stories of their GC.

Smileless, glad you enjoyed your Portugal trip. We’re looking at going away in October for 2 weeks, love Portugal. You put me to shame also with all of your Gym pursuits.

Celebgran, I’m loving the heat wave. We went over to Glasgow the day the Commonwealth started on Wednesday, what a fantastic atmosphere there.

Just finished making a corn beef, onion and potato pie smile. Will go and do veg for hubby coming in. Will eat alfresco tonight.

wine and flowers and the biggest hugs for all who need it.

celebgran Sun 20-Jul-14 13:58:46

Hope you're OK Yoagirl. Have a good Sunday every one.

celebgran Sun 20-Jul-14 10:26:22

Smileless2012 Sat 19-Jul-14 14:07:38

Gosh I can't believe it's been so long since I was on hereblushand it seems I'm not the only one. I hope it's a sign that every one is doing OK, busily getting on with their lives as they try to move forward.

I'm feeling pretty good at the momentsmileand I hope all of you are too. Miss you all; wouldn't be doing as well as I am if it hadn't been for all of you.

Smileless2012 Mon 07-Jul-14 10:51:13

smilesmilesmilefor you dear Yogagirl

Yogagirl Mon 07-Jul-14 09:04:40

I ment to put a happy face smile at the end of that message, just shows where my life is right now, if I always head for the sad face sad

Yogagirl Mon 07-Jul-14 09:02:30

Thanks Celebgran & Smileless flowers
I think that too re: GC growing up, think thats why I'm feeling sooo sad, as I know the special time, before they start school is all but over with my Laila & as they grow they are natrually more into their friends than their N&G. I had the work schedule that enabled me to see lots of them, but once they start school it would be the opposite. sad
I had a lovely evening Saturday at a 'Roaring 20s Party night' the venue was amazing & the entertainment too. I went to a little party yesterday afternoon for a friends b/day, which was nice, left when they started sharing GC pics & cute stories sad
Very busy week, as covering for fellow Yoga teacher whilst she's on hols, so doing all her classes & mine shock & one of my 1-2-1 has just come out of hospital after a little op. & wants me to 'pop' round every morning to help her with her physio confused, so best get my skates on sad

Smileless2012 Sun 06-Jul-14 21:40:27

Evening ladies. Well we're back from our last minute week away in Portugal and it was greatsmile. Just what the doctor ordered; a week ofsunshinewinegood food and lots of time for one another.

It wassadseeing small children our gc age bec. it brings home to you what you're missing out on. I love to hear them talking and laughing, because when I do I close my eyes and imagine that I'm listening to my own darling gc. They're so cute as toddlers aren't they. I wonder if in 10 or so years time when he's nearing his teenage years and wont be so cute, if it will be easier to live with ithmm.

Thank you Librachick for sharing your wonderful day with all of us. Yes, it made me cry but it also made mesmileknowing that you had a such a wonderful day. When you see them again, give each of them an extra hug as a hug from all of us for our own gc that we cannot see.

Glad your Turkish retreat went well Yogagirl. Of course you did nothing wrong; any one simply reading your posts can see what a lovely lady you areflowersfor you.

Hope you're doing OK Celebgran I've missed you too, all of you.

Well, before I went away I signed up for a 12 week intensive course at my gym; 4 sessions a week!!! They tell me that the achieved results are amasinghmm. So, I had my first session this morningshock, I mean I've been going for 11 months now and didn't expect to find it such tough going. Only 11 weeks and 3 sessions to go. Hope I can make it, what am I saying; hope I manage to survivegrin.

I don't know why, because the last 3 months have been sooo awful which is why we've been away, but it feels good to be back and what's really good is that it's a good feeling to be home. Back with family, friends and all of you lovely grans.

flowersfor you all. Have a good week everyone xxxx

celebgran Sat 05-Jul-14 09:46:42

Hubby tooth settled bless you for asking.

Wonder if smileless is back yet miss her.

Yogagirl you did nothing wrong just like me we are just unlucky one day it may improve. Thinking of you xx

Yogagirl Fri 04-Jul-14 22:04:38

Librachick Thank you for sharing your day with us, even though it broke my heart and made me cry to read it. I loved my daughter with all of my heart and soul, I adored her and I never ever did or said anything to hurt her, why would I, I loved her. I loved her children, my precious grandchildren as much as I loved her. I did have a special bond with my Laila (is that wrong to say that?), as I chose her name, she bore my names after her first name and she lived with me before and after her birth, which I was at. I have never endured such pain, it never lessens. Why has God been so cruel to me, I am a good person, a kind and gentle mother/grandmother.

LibraChick Fri 04-Jul-14 17:29:56

Dearest Grans

What our children put us through is really heartbreaking.

Thank you all so much for your nice words. I feel really blessed.

We had a fabulous day, only eldest GS and GD came out for the day. 2nd GS wanted to work on the farm with Daddy. Eldest GS said “Mummy told him to come, he’d have fun, and he can work on the farm any time with Daddy”. He also said he really missed us and that everytime they go passed our house, he asks to pop in and see us, but Mummy always says NO, we don't have time. A cone with a flake was £2.80 each, extortionate, but wasn’t bothered. GS could count the total, GD can write and get most words right (activity pack at F&B). Was so chuffed, they’re so clever, but I’m a wee bit biased.

GD said she loved her Christmas present and what a silly Grandma to forget to bring them over. She started school last year, and finished up her first year today for the summer school holidays, she is so tall, so is GS.

The day was fabulous; the weather was great, cloud cover most of the day, but when it wasn’t the sun was very, very hot. The cuddles, kisses and they both wanted to hold our hands all the way around.

We had bought them a camera each, they were so happy with them; they took lots of photos. GS worked out how to use it within about 20 minutes.

We had lots of laughs and I thank God for the day with them.

We went to Frankie and Benny’s on the way home. I was so sad to take them home, wanted to steal them.

celebgran, hope you are feeling a bit better and that you’re getting the help you need. Hope hubby’s toothache has gone. Men!! What are they like?

Sorry to hear about how your daughter treated you, I wonder if they realise how much it breaks our hearts and hurts us so much. Keep your chin up and I hope the visit with your son and his family was good.

Yogagirl, Your Yoga retreat in Turkey sounds really good; hope you’ve come back so relaxed. I do hope that you didn’t get the card for gc posted back through your letter box, all ripped up.

Smileless2012, love 'World's Grumpiest Old Man' card and nice words inside too. Keep strong, it’s a shame that we have to “bounce bank quicker”!

I've texted and asked if we can see them again, she texted back and said "give me some dates", so I texted back "Anytime, we'll take annual leave of if we have too". So will wait a week and see, if nothing then I'll send another text.

I also emailed her this poem.....on 21.06.14 with no subject, no sign off, nothing else

"Estranged" ....A Mother's Day poem

So long ago, I carried you
Feeing your tiny body just under my heart
Smiling when I felt you turn and roll.

Heart pounding, I held you in my arms
Caressed your tiny fingers
Scared of the love I felt.

What if something happens to you?
Should I guard my heart?
Too late...heart's already gone.
I'm crazy for you.

You only wanted Mummy,
Then you only wanted Daddy,
Then you only wanted Mummy,
Then you only wanted Daddy,
Then you only wanted Mummy,

We were your world.

Until you didn't want me anymore.

Today defeated and numb
I say goodbye
To what I wish were true.

I set you free to live your life
to never come back to me.

Do I hope? Always.
Do I wish you'd change? Of course.
Is it likely? No.
Do I regret having you? Never.
Do I forgive you? You didn't ask.
Did I cause the mess in your life? No
Am I happy without you? I'm working on it.
Do I like myself? Getting there.

Do I like you? No
Do I love you?

Always.

To all you fabulous Grans, keep smiling, being nice to yourselves and know that I think of this group very, very often, you gave me salvation when all was bleak. Pity we all live so far away from each other. What would we have done without the Internet.

I wasn't too sure about posting about getting the GC for the day, but H said it might give you lovelies some hope. I hope I didn't upset you.

BIG [hugs], flowers and wine for all.
