Does anyone believe that he will be good for us pensioners?

durhamjen Sat 17-Oct-15 16:07:08

I said most, thatbags. You are just one, so most might not include you.

rosequartz Sat 17-Oct-15 15:58:18

"Strange that most of the people on here are ones who would never vote Labour anyway"

Most? Are you a mind-reader?
Why is it strange?
and, if they are, which no-one can possibly know, Why Not?

rosequartz Sat 17-Oct-15 15:51:26

Just hope the subject of lounge v living room doesn't come up

Surely everyone everyone knows it's a sitting room!! wink

(Unless you're very posh in which case it's a drawing room.)

rosequartz Sat 17-Oct-15 15:43:29

Wouldn't know about sci-fi rosesarered, never read it.
anniebach you don't know what you've missed; Aldous Huxley, H G Wells, George Orwell, Dennis Wheatley etc! I must have had a misspent youth lapping these up.

rosequartz Sat 17-Oct-15 15:33:05

a leader should hear the people he leads , should speak for them not at them
He'd better hear loud and clear then, that many staunch Labour supporters, some of whom I know well, abhor his attitude to the IRA and other terrorist groups.

rosequartz Sat 17-Oct-15 15:20:54

You know why many voted for Corbyn rosequartz

That's it.
Name Change Time!!
rosesarered wss here first I think, so I will defer

How about jemimacorbyn, does that sound good?

thatbags Sat 17-Oct-15 14:45:45

dj said: "Strange that most of the people on here are ones who would never vote Labour anyway".

Just out of curiosity, dj, do tell how you think assume I vote. I don't think I've ever mentioned it (might have done).

rosesarered Sat 17-Oct-15 14:34:14

But.... I did allow you the last word on drives, you chose not to take it.
Baiter supreme?Hhmmn, sounds like one of Prince Charles' flunkies.

Anniebach Sat 17-Oct-15 14:28:18

You never allow others to end a discussion rosesarered, you are the baiter supreme on this forum . End of discussion.

rosesarered Sat 17-Oct-15 13:42:50

I must allow you the last words on drives Anniebach, as it matters more to you than me, I don't have a council house, but I do have a drive.what has Hyacinth Bucket got to do with it, did she have a council house?

rosesarered Sat 17-Oct-15 13:40:00

Corbyns Socialist ideas will hurt the Labour Party if they lose the next election. The Labour Party would simply be a kind of protest party.

Anniebach Sat 17-Oct-15 13:39:51

ooops, sorry rosesarered, forgot to say , I find Hyacinth Bucket soooo amusing ,

Anniebach Sat 17-Oct-15 13:28:36

Neither pedantic or snobbish rosesarered , I don't call the A47 the M47 , perhaps you do, your choice

nightowl Sat 17-Oct-15 13:27:34

Well heaven help us, JC's socialist ideas might harm the Labour Party confused
Which seems to prove the point that Thatcher's legacy is still with us after all these years, as continued by Tony Blair (didn't she say he was her greatest achievement or something along those lines?). IMO we have never been more in need of a socialist alternative than now.

rosesarered Sat 17-Oct-15 13:19:37

I think that Corbyns views are extreme ( he may not get extreme policies put through, but that's another thing.)So it stands to reason that people with equally extreme left wing views would vote for and support him.

rosesarered Sat 17-Oct-15 13:15:33

You must stop living in the past, anniebach, how many years now since Thatcher?

rosesarered Sat 17-Oct-15 13:14:23

Well, pedantic or snobbish annibach ( regarding the council house) so which is it?

rosesarered Sat 17-Oct-15 13:12:42

I think that if you read my last two posts again Djen, you will see that I said a lot of Labour supporters had voted wrongly IMO for him. You will note the IMO.

Anniebach Sat 17-Oct-15 12:49:46

I am doing well , I am an extremist, an adolescent because I voted for Corbyn and pedantic because I will not say a access to a council house garage is a drive . Just hope the subject of lounge v living room doesn't come up grin

Anniebach Sat 17-Oct-15 12:45:32

A. I apologise for mixing up your name rosesarered,

B. You did say - quite a proportion of £3 voters were extremists ,the press claim this but neither you or the press know if quite a proportion who voted were extremists ,

Be careful what you wish for certainly came home to roost for many who voted for Thatcher

rosesarered Sat 17-Oct-15 12:45:23

No need to take things personally at all mollie, it's just politics debate.A lot of extremists did vote for Corbyn, a lot of Labour voters also voted for him too.But do remember that his views are socialist and quite extreme, and that alone could damage the Labour Party, and ( should he ever get into power) the country. The Labour Party fought to rid itself of extreme left wing people and this year has allowed it all to come trickling back in.

mollie Sat 17-Oct-15 12:44:07

OK, good point. wink

durhamjen Sat 17-Oct-15 12:41:10

Well, roses knows better than anyone who voted for him why they voted for him, so let's not quibble, mollie.
Let's just say that I must be wrong and an extremist and an adolescent along with you and Anniebach.
Anyone else want to join our group?

mollie Sat 17-Oct-15 12:33:53

No, not my unique and original thought, not even considered a soundbite, just a phrase my old dad used to death. Of course, in liking JC, and considering voting for him if he gets that far at a general election, I must be both wrong and an extremist. I'm neither, in my personal view, but thank you for telling me rosesarered.

rosesarered Sat 17-Oct-15 12:18:37

A) I am not rosequartz
B) it's a fact that all kinds of people voted for Corbyn from the left, including those with extreme views, Trots, Marxists, Communists, and the like.Unions also whipped up support as did McConnell on social media 'the disaffected youth' that everyone is keen on.Plus Labour voters who just liked him, and thought ( wrongly) IMO that he would be good for the Party.I think the old saying of ' be careful what you wish for, you may just get it ' has come home to roost.
