Mog pretender

I showed it to 6 year old GS today on utube and he loved it.It is not going to make him shop at Sainsburys and I find that refreshing.

Never heard of Mog before this advert! Where have I been...?

DD and I both went straight out and bought the book When he was younger GS1 got Goodbye Mog from the library. He insisted on having it read to him every night and DD was a nervous wreck by the time it went back to the library.

Well I will also buy it when I can, so much kudos to Sainsbury's for the ad and for raising funds for the literacy project.

Well I love it! When they have these long story ads on we don't get as many of the other banal type thrown at us. I agree the have not quite got Mog right but that is probably the girls in the makeup room. You know how they like to "improve" people. Its never too early for Christmas and stories are fun. Poor old Mog.

I saw it in full for the first time yesterday and loved it. I'll get the story for my grandchildren. It's better than all the other Christmas ads by far.

Here here for Mog! I really love it - it's funny and cheerful.

I just think the real Mog is out there somewhere-probably thinking "Dark thoughts" and wondering why her family are celebrating with an imposter cat!

trisher, maybe Mog looks a little the worse for wear, having been resurrected. Never mind, her personality hasn't changed.

I had never heard of Mog either, but then my DDs are over 45 years old.

The Mog stories are quite old shysal my children all read them.I loved Mog and the baby, and also Mogs Christmas.

My eldest is 38 but I was reading Mog stories when I was teaching before DCs. First book published 1970. Loved them ever since.

If you've never met Mog, there's a whole new world waiting for you. Apart from the srotries being fun, the illustrations are wonderful. They are both written and illustrated by Judith Kerr who, I think, also had a hand in the Sainsbury's advertisement.

I've watched the video about the making of the ad and Judith Kerr loved the animated Mog - and of course appears in it as one of the neighbours.

Apparently Age UK has had a huge surge in people wanting to help alleviate loneliness over Christmas after seen the John Lewis ad.

Definitely my favourite christmas ad. I loved the mog books when my children were young.

I know this is about the Mog ad - I have no clue who/what Mog is but I shall google it - but I wanted to mention the JL ad. Quite touching but then I happened to see the parodies. The Darth Vader one is a shocker! I don't know anything about Star Wars, despite gs trying to educate me, but it is a little too close to recent events in Paris for comfort...

Oh, don't look at it like that. You can't let those awful happenings colour everything.

just saw the Sainsbury's ad. Perfect! Now I know who Mog was/is.

Real Mog or not - I loved it! DH nearly choked on his - he was chuckling so much - that in itself was a joy to see
