To expect people to cover their mouths when they yawn?

Where are the manners we were taught gone? Things like covering your mouth, not talking whilst eating are now disregarded. My two DGDs aged 9 and 12 are often allowed to eat with their fingers, leave the table on a whim and have no idea what to do with a napkin. My DS was taught all these things so why have they not been passed on? Manners make life much more pleasant

With you all the way here phoenix. Another pet hate is people eating with their mouth open - and talking! Yuk, I really don't want to see their half-chewed food thank you!

I appreciate that yawning, unlike coughing or sneezing, is unlikely to spread any germs.

But it looks bloody awful!

I'm often reminded of a hippopotamus, not quite sure why, but that wide open mouth, with all teeth and throat on display...........
