There is no doubt JRM is, as Eloethan says, a well educated reasonably intelligent man but the least you can say about his comments about Traditional Britain is that he has been disingenuous.
So, when we all know the truth about where he stands he is honest, when he thinks it is time to wriggle he pretends to knows less about something than 'one' actually does.
I do not call that a man who is showing honesty.

.. to be appalled by this news about Jacob Rees-Mogg on GMB today
(499 Posts)"Conservative MP Jacob Rees-Mogg says he is "completely opposed" to abortion, including in cases of rape or incest."
"Dennis Miller Gray No problem. When the 'anti-Brexiteers' have left (out of principle), and all of the muslims have been erased it will be back to a nice normal; 1950-1960s size population."
Three hours ago on Traditional Britain facebook.
Eloethan, are you suggesting that Rees-Mogg isn't as honest as people say he is?
Jacob Rees-Mogg has had a good education and is said to be intelligent. I, and many other commentators, felt that it would need to be a rather stupid MP who accepted an invitation to be guest of honour and after-dinner speaker for an organisation which he knew very little about. BBC News reported that:
"Mr Rees-Mogg was guest of honour at the Traditional Britain Group's annual dinner in May.
"The group's Facebook page calls for Doreen Lawrence, the mother of murdered black teenager Stephen Lawrence, and "millions of others" to be "requested to return to their natural homelands". (which is, I think, what durhamjen was referring to).
"It is also critical of the Conservative Party - saying its current leadership is "liberal left" - and "likes" the Facebook page of far-right French politician Marine Le Pen. It praised a by-election victory by her National Front party in May as "excellent".
When questions were increasingly being asked of Rees-Mogg as to why he felt it appropriate to accept an invitation from such a controversial and divisive organisation, he denied he knew anything about the sort of values and objectives of the organisation and hastily expressed his opposition to them. The Traditional Britain Group, on the other hand, said he was well aware of the group's aims and values and was dishonest and cowardly in distancing himself.
Baggs You say "natural family planning is very effective if you know what you are doing". Well, presumably a lot of Catholics didn't know what they were doing because I personally know three people born into Catholic families of 11+ children - one of which Lancashire family lived in a two up, two down terraced house. I hardly think, given the circumstances, having a family of that size was intentional. In sexual matters, human behaviour can be unpredictable and lacking in restraint - and unwanted pregnancies occur even when more modern methods of contraception are available.
Igranma Given that records show approximately 1 in 3 women has had an abortion, I find it difficult to believe that "most, if not all" Rees-Mogg's constituents agree with his views on abortion.
Chewbacca It is surprising that you express such outrage at this thread, calling it "toxic" and "tainted", when you have contributed to another thread which is truly disreputable, drawing direct comparisons between supporters of Hitler and supporters of Corbyn and consisting almost entirely of sneers and insults to misrepresent, ridicule and demean people whose views do not accord with those of the right wing.
I do notice Jen, that a few who would normally be Tory claques are beginning to think this has all gone to far. Too little, too late but better to see than backsides in the air and heads in the sand when it comes to the poorest.
Jacob Rees-Mogg has voted for this.

In view of what JRM said in this non event interview....
Which I haven't mentioned Chewbacca except to reply to those who were saying all is well because he told the truth in the interview. So I don't mind where you put that pot and kettle but I could make some suggestions. If you want to get personal we can all join in that silliness can't we.
It's become as daft as a brush Madgran !
More concern with how many times a married couple has sex, how sad
This thread seems to have got lost from the point made in the original OP.
It isn't aggressive to post information about things you know about. I have worked with children who came to school without any breakfast, who didn't have tea the night before, whose last meal had been their school lunch. Their mum hadn't any money because the benefit was due. Another child would mean that money would have to stretch further.
A US study has identified the problem
*Food Insecurity
Children in the US are mostly safe from the severe hunger often seen in poor and developing countries. However, many children live in families who do not have a consistent and dependable supply of healthy food. Researchers refer to this as food insecurity. 4
Food insecurity is not the same as hunger. Food-insecure families are often able to avoid hunger by choosing cheaper, more filling types of food over more costly nutritious foods. For young children, the result is often a diet that provides inadequate nutrients for normal growth and development. 7
A family is considered food-insecure if they frequently
Are unable to afford balanced meals
Reduce the size of meals because of lack of money
Reduce the quality and variety of their normal diet due to lack of money
Food insecurity has been linked to nutrient deficiencies that lead to learning and development problems, especially among infants and toddlers. Long-term effects include low achievement in school, emotional problems, and poor health. 4,5,8 A recent study 9,10 finds that compared to their peers in food-secure families, food-insecure children under age 3 are:
90 percent more likely to have fair or poor health rather than good or excellent health
31 percent more likely to spend time in the hospital
76 percent more likely to have problems in cognitive, language, and behavioral development*
I'm sorry but I find that far more disgusting than anything on this thread.
My, Chewbacca you do like to twist what has been said don't you.
In view of what JRM said in this non event interview.... Kettle. Pot. Black.
You have no idea who I support GGMK2 and never will.
I have no interest in who you support just in the fact that some - whether that includes you or not - are all over a guy with far-right views. This thread was never about you it was about the JRM and the wool he appears to be pulling over some people eyes.
My, Chewbacca you do like to twist what has been said don't you.
Of course we don't all see things the same way.
Exactly POGs but we don't all call other people's views 'toxic'.
Well said Chewbacca , it has sunk to an all time low and the agression? Just an attempt to keep political threads and now it seems sexually obsessed threads to themselves
Asking a question is support for a party ? Do stop bullying Trisher
It's always been said that we'll supported, researched and balanced opinions are valid on these forums. Some of the posts on this thread have been a great deal less than that. From one nondescript insipid little MP being interviewed on a 2nd rate tv channel, you've managed to drag up his sexual habits, how many times he's had sex with his wife, the holocaust, gassing and the slow starvation of children. Here.... have this grip. You need it.
Support for right wing policies again Annie, who needs a Conservative party?
How much is benefit for a third child? It must be more than I thought if a whole family can slowly starve to death if this benefit is stopped
GGMK2
" Is that because you don't see things in the same way that others do ".
Of course we don't all see things the same way . That is the reason for comment and debate not making wild allegations verging on hatred surely to goodness.
What do you think happens to children born Ito families where there isn't enough money Chewbacca? Do you imagine they grow up happy and healthy? They may not actually die of starvation, but the cumulative effects of being malnourished through their childhood will impact on their adult lives and reduce their life expectancy.
You have no idea who I support GGMK2 and never will. But no matter who, or what I "support" there is a line that has been crossed on this thread by bringing in holocaust victims; gassing; Jews; personal sexual habits of people and families being starved to death as planks to shore up a petty argument about some nondescript MP who was interviewed on tv. Just how far are you prepared to stoop to prop up an argument?
You don't HAVE to read any of it Chewbacca, It is a choice you know. As for what's going on in my head, well it's pretty much what I post. I believe in a woman's right to choose, I believe that all children should be properly supported and cared for not just the first 2. I don't like the fact that someone like Rees Mogg born into privilege, living in wealth ,should be able to cause devastation and deprivation in the lives of people who have been born into circumstances less affluent than his.
'Hitler/Gassing Jews/ Personal Sexual Habits/False Allegations / Allowing Families to Slowly Starve To Death.'
Now 'Supporting the Far Right'
Sigh
