She's just bought that dress at M and S and is regretting it and now she's thinking 'What a pain, I'll have to take it back.'

varian Wed 14-Feb-18 21:11:39

I wonder if she looks that miserable because she hasn't discovered GN or whether she is a (very old and depressed) GNetter who keeps getting attacked on the politics forum.

Rotten cactus on the shelf, could have had a pretty plant

Mycatisahacker Wed 14-Feb-18 18:47:17

I have got 13years to go urgh?

Maggiemaybe Wed 14-Feb-18 08:29:18

I’ve got to have, Chewbacca, or I think I’d go mad! 6 years is more than enough to miss out on. angry

Chewbacca Tue 13-Feb-18 21:03:43

Actually Maggie, no I dont! I usually stagger in and slump in a chair, still with my coat on, and don't speak to anyone for at least half an hour. And I've given up wondering what life will be life when I finally reach retirement age because it's been moved back, in 18 month increments, 3 times now and I'm not optimistic that it won't be moved back again. Do you still have any optimism that you'll ever get to state retirement age?

Maggiemaybe Tue 13-Feb-18 20:14:00

Ah, Chewbacca, and do you gaze wistfully out of the window like that, imagining what life will be like when you finally get your pension (I know I do!)? 3 years for me. [big sigh emoticon]

Jalima1108 Tue 13-Feb-18 19:54:22

Perhaps I should recommend Clarins moisturiser to her. Other makes are available and probably just as good.

Chewbacca Tue 13-Feb-18 19:41:56

Looks like me when I drag myself in from work at the end of a long week. only another 2 years to go. Providing they don't move the goal posts again

Maggiemaybe Tue 13-Feb-18 19:39:57

GNHQ have listened to our concerns. This photo's on the Facebook page now. The caption is "I will probably be working till I drop dead", so she must be under pension age. Perhaps she's had a hard life. grin

Yep I'll agree about the nails -red? At a wedding? She's wearing pink.
And the neck, just like mine. Lovely

Bellasnana Mon 12-Feb-18 14:54:28

The comments on here have made me grin ( in a good way)

Jalima1108 Mon 12-Feb-18 14:47:56

sorry Lucy

Jalima1108 Mon 12-Feb-18 14:47:19

ps and the FOTB seems to be having a bit too much fun with the bridesmaids
hmm

Jalima1108 Mon 12-Feb-18 14:46:00

I don't think the MOTB looks great - hair is not good, that thing on the side of her head is too twee, wrong colour and that pale pink is too insipid.
Oh - and her fingernails are too red

Now I will go away and hide from the brickbats.

LucyGransnet (GNHQ) Mon 12-Feb-18 12:39:25

FarNorth you've hit the nail on the head - minus the 'oldies' reference, of course grin

We do try to use a range of ages when using pictures anywhere - we feel it's only fair to represent our younger and older members, after all!

FarNorth Mon 12-Feb-18 12:19:29

To be fair, I think only the MOTB, in the picture, and her DH (presumably) are meant to be the oldies.

So the rest of you who are in the picture with them are quite unusual.
Had you not realised?

harrigran Mon 12-Feb-18 08:35:31

Well I did look like the MOTB when DD married but I was only 46 when she tied the knot.

Jalima1108 Sun 11-Feb-18 17:32:58

The man in the picture looks a tad old for the likes of us young grannies don't you think?

Chewbacca Sun 11-Feb-18 17:19:18

As you can see, I definitely don't have any bingo wings, thread veins, gnarled knuckles or age spots on my beautifully toned and tanned arms. As is the case, naturally.

DanniRae Sun 11-Feb-18 17:16:16

Actually my two chins aren't nearly as scrawny! wink
