Meghan's father and photographer in photo scam

I think this is completely ironic.

The Royal family had asked the press to respect the Markle family's privacy, but now it appears Mr. Markle has been involved in staging some photographic scoops of his own, despite being described as a 'recluse'

The Mail on Sunday exposed the story yesterday.

Apparently the photographer and Markle set up some exclusive shoots which were then sold to press agencies around the world.

It quickly became apparent though that the pictures were 'too perfect' and obviously staged, but not before the photographer involved had received a considerable amount of money. The paper has said it is not known if Mr. Markle received any payment, but if not, why on earth would he participate in such a thing?

The Royal family must be cringing.

Will there be key lime pie for pud at the wedding reception?
Will it become all the rage?
Sherry trifle was served at William and Kate’s wedding, a fab British pud.How dare these American foodstuffs grace our Royal tables! grin

I see I have upset the key lime pie lovers grin well, all I can say is ‘let them eat cake’ ?

Maybe he used this money to pay for his heart operation. I would have done

Faye Wed 16-May-18 21:13:00

My late opinion to this thread is I think Meghan’s father is hilarious. The paparazzi missed out this time.

I also think Meghan Markle is a huge asset to Harry. She is a humanitarian activist, bringing empathy for the underprivileged, intelligence and a hard work ethic to the Royal family.

I love key lime pie!

muffinthemoo Wed 16-May-18 20:41:22

Nigella has an absolutely brilliant and pretty foolproof recipe for a key lime cheesecake to convince the sceptics!

Jalima1108 Wed 16-May-18 20:33:52

I mean, key lime pie!! It’s vile! shock

shock key lime pie is delicious if made properly - with lots of lime juice and not too sweet.

Even when it doesn't set and ends up looking like a mess (like the one I made) it still tastes good.

goes off chuntering 'just because you grow lemons'

Jalima1108 Wed 16-May-18 20:21:31

sorry about the post, pc, keyboard, mouse all playing up and I am about to throw them all out on to the front lawn where I hope it pours with rain all night.

Jalima1108 Wed 16-May-18 20:20:53

I hopeI

I hope all goes well with your DH merlotgran and that he will be able to celebrate the RW with you! smile

Iam64 Wed 16-May-18 20:18:30

Best of luck to your husband and hope your'e ok as well merlotgran.

When the engagement was announced, Harry made a comment to the effect that Meghan would now have the family she'd never had. That comment seems increasingly accurate.

merlotgran Wed 16-May-18 20:11:52

Thanks, lemongrove.

Whilst thinking of the Royal or any family with colourful members, two words spring to mind -Lord Snowdon,

Gaggi3 Wed 16-May-18 19:39:41

lemongrove- grin

No ones perfect, we are only seeing what the papers want us to see. We don’t know the family or the royal family. All families have up & downs, including the royal family.

icanhandthemback Wed 16-May-18 18:28:11

Barmeyoldbat, I think you'll find it is up to the vicar's conscience but we were married in church 22 years ago and we were both divorced.

lemongrove Wed 16-May-18 18:16:30

Good luck for your DH Merlot a worrying time for you both.
I shall be on holiday the day of the wedding, but have just watched ‘The Royal Wedding’ on channel 4 grin it’s very funny ( Beatrice and Jeremy Corbyn) and Camilla playing the evil step Mother.

Newquay Wed 16-May-18 18:09:14

Haven't read all these posts so forgive me blundering in. . .heard someone say yesterday did we think Philip's op was planned to keep him out of the way? What with mixed race, American and divorced-what could he possibly say?!
And in the dear old DM it says the security for this bash is being met by taxpayers-surely not with all the needs we have as a country, hospitals, schools, prisons etc?

Oldwoman70 Wed 16-May-18 16:20:26

I don't buy the DM so must have read it somewhere else!

hicaz46 Wed 16-May-18 16:13:38

Just because it’s in the Daily Mail doesn’t make it true. I recommend taking everything in that rag with a pinch of salt.

Oldwoman70 Wed 16-May-18 16:01:33

I thought I read somewhere that the interview will have to be approved by the palace.

JenniferEccles Wed 16-May-18 15:55:58

Following GabriellaG's post, I still think Meghan's mother leaves a lot to be desired.

I thought she had already been on Oprah's show, but apparently that will happen after the wedding, which I guess from a financial point of view makes perfect sense to both Oprah and the mother.

Revealing insider gems from the mother of the bride after the wedding, well, I imagine she could name her price.

And THIS is the family background of the woman Prince Harry will marry on Saturday. Ye gods!

varian Wed 16-May-18 15:39:04

I do know someone who was playing badminton with someone half his age three days before his son's wedding and had a heart attack. He still got to the wedding and looked in quite good shape.

merlotgran Wed 16-May-18 15:26:10

Speaking as one who has spent the last ten days worried stiff about a DH seriously ill with a sudden and unexpected bacterial infection which has affected his heart, I'm less than impressed with Thomas Markle using his so-called heart problems as an excuse for his indecision, self pity and general attention seeking behaviour.

I find it hard to believe he's had a heart attack and now he's supposed to be having major heart surgery today. Really?

With the exception of her mother, can that family not just shut up, butt out and let Meghan enjoy her day?

On a good note (for me), if DHs echocardiogram goes OK tomorrow he'll be allowed home for the weekend just so long as he can administer his IV antibiotics.

He'll be just in time to watch the RW with me! I bet he can't wait grin
